About 2700

How many folks are leaving these days? Are they running more than one Indoc class a month?

Very little attrition. One indoc per month of about 20. Think they're targeting 240/yr for the next two.

In 2006, first class was Jan 3rd (2143), last class of 2006 was Dec 4th (2543). Gain of 400.

In 2007, up to 2673, as of June 23rd. (2544-2673) +129 gain.

These numbers are on par for 250 newhires for 2007.

Approx 20 per class, 1 class per month.

These numbers, from the company published seniority list.

With all of these exact numbers...anyway you can break it down on new hires and what base they are getting? Curious about DFW.

I just took a quick look at the 6-14-07 seniority list for those hired since the beginning of May, which was 45 pilots. I only saw 3 people who got DAL (and it's DAL, not DFW, for what it matters.) Most of the new-hires in that timeframe seemed to get CMH, LAX or TEB but a few others did get PBI, maybe 6 or so.

That's just a snapshot and hiring for PBI and DAL does seem to go in waves.

Sounds like a few more bid periods and you'll be upgraded...:D

On the 1/22/07 seniority list, the last guy hired in 2006 was #2594. On the 6/14/07 list, the last guy is #2673. So I was mistaken, we have a net gain of 79 for the year (not 129, skiandsurf).

As I looked at the numbers, we hired 129 this year. Not counting those that left.

I forget who keeps saying it??? Ultra grump or fozzy? Upgrade time is 5 years. With hiring slowing down so much, I wonder if not longer.
Damn!

Archie!!! What up my man?
I may have to call on you for a recommend letter for good ole'
brown. (just kidding). Who knows when upgrade will be? Seems like
they went from hiring 350 this year down to 240. Dang it. Life is still
good here otherwise. How's life at UPS?
