Thanks for the support. This pilot group has a lot of strength in the mid-range senority (4-8) years and if ASA or Skywest thinks we won't burn this place in a heartbeat, they're sorely mistaken. I love the flying and the flight crews, but dealing with this company can be a miserable experience on a daily basis. Our time is worth a hell of a lot more than the pay and treatment we recieve.

..........the company wants us to fly fatigued, and expects us to "wash our underwear in the hotel sink" if our overnight bags are lost because we can't put them in the overhead bins.

This crap needs to stop and we can put a stop to it with unity!
Yeah, I heard about this "washing our underwear in the sink" comment today in the crewroom. Not sure where the source of that comment came from, but if there is any truth to it, that is total BS! We should take all our dirty underwear after a 4-day trip and throw'em on the doorstep of the G.O.

Unity between SkyWest pilots and ASA pilots will go a very long way!

I am confident that the ASA pilots are up to the task at hand. ASA pilots have a strong fraternal instinct and have refused to sell themselves out for promises of growth in the past. Good luck to both the ASA and Skywest pilots.

I bet Jerry, Ronny Reber, Brad Holt, and all of those guys in St George are browning their pants right now! Buying ASA is their own personal "Vietnam." Oh well, too bad they weren't "insulated" from labor strife, right Ron Reber? What a joke. Good luck ASA guys and gals!

Bye Bye--General Lee

They also authorized a strike vote.

For those folks that don't want to rock the boat, wake up!!! We haven't had a COLA raise in over 3 years! ASA isn't worth staying at if the working conditions worsen. Our CP's are worthless, our new system CP is a weasel that nobody but the base CP's really like, Willie and Georgia in crew planning have managed to f-up the bid packages every month since they took over, the company wants us to fly fatigued, and expects us to "wash our underwear in the hotel sink" if our overnight bags are lost because we can't put them in the overhead bins.

One of the ATL pilots told us in the SLC crew lounge that it was Assistant Chief Pilot Kim Reed who told the pilot to wash his underwear in the hotel sink. Sounds like someone with prior experience. Maybe her size 14 underwear has to be washed in the bathtub.:D He also said that she calls Scott Hall (Nelson reincarnated) if one of the union reps is holding court in the crew lounge. If you see her in ATL ask her for some travel size Tide and maybe her favorite cookie recipe. BAD GOES AROUND!

So true. Skywest bought ASA in order to ensure growth but it got a nice present with it - the potential for labor strife. Maybe the ASA people will show their Skywest brothers and sisters what it's like to actually have CAJONES and stick up for yourself and your profession...

Good one! This bag issue was a good example of how we are treated. This rule was made and enforced without thinking of the pilots and FA's at all. This is typical on everything, "who cares about the crews". You can only f-k with the pilots for so long.

It is amazing how money is really not the issue. When the way you are treated at work and the quality of ASA stinks, this really bothers a professional and at some point flying an airplane is not worth it and the professional moves on.

According to the ALPA Update, the bag issue is being resolved.

As to the comment, it's hard for me to believe that a CP would make such a stupid comment at such a time. It would be throwing gas on a fire.

Maybe that is the ASA way, but maybe it's a rumor that somebody started.

This is one big game of chicken. We will mimic the tractor scene in "Footloose", except both our shoes are purposely tied to the pedals.
I'm looking for a hero!
