Okay h2 you are not all bad.

I am now to tired and have a few in me to argue. In the end it comes down to the fact that life is a bitch.
We failed in a few places. End of story.

You seem like a fair guy. Beer is on me if you happen to be in ATL tonight. PM if you are.

I was actually sitting in PDK all day today, but now back at the house. Wife and kids are outa town so I gotta soak up the cartoon free TV while I can, get in to INT or GSO PM me and the barley pop's on me...

By the time a person qualifies for a position at NetJets they've paid their dues and shouldn't have to scrape by and pay for their own commute.
The other thing you're either overlooking or ignoring is that nobody is forcing new-hires to commute. If only folks that lived in domiciles would accept the jobs, the supply of new-hires would quickly dry up, and the domicile thing would go away. That's not happening, so the new-hires are essentially shooting themselves in the foot, in a manner of speaking. I'm not saying the domicile system is right, but it is what it is. No pilot group ever gets everything on their negotiation wishlist.

Walked right by you then. If you were at Sig. Oh well. Maybe I will get you for that brew in the future. The one thing pilots can agree on. Someone else buying a round.

How did I get thrown into this mess. :)

The company is more than able to open up HBA's for the new hires if they want to. From what it looks like they are going to have to. Eventually the pool will dry up and they will have to do something. Look at the 26 gateways under the old contract. The term if you do not study history you will be forced to repeat it comes to mind.

I don't believe that the new hires got screwed because they know what the job is now before they get hired. If they wish to commute that is THEIR choice. I know it sucks but eventually it came down to the current pilot group was going to have to give up major gains to fix the companies mistake. I was not willing to do it because i know about past history with this company and I know the pool will dry up. The last TA which was a miserable failure not only screwed new hires it screwed the current pilots in the gateway system. I would have had to come to work a day early to get into position. Thats a step backward.

The contract was an industry leader but it is just another rung up the ladder for all pilots. The next contract will be another fight and we will raise the bar again.

By the way h2b i used to fly a king air out of GSO. Is that restuarant called hole in the wall by the airport still around?

Hi!

NetJets with Home Basing would be a much better job (for me) than the present one I have.

With the current situation at Net Jets, my current job is much better.

My wife has a great job, so we're not moving. It's not aviation, it's stable, and she makes it pay pretty well. She just got a sizable signing bonus to switch to a new co. in GRB.

ATPCliff - sounds like a very rational decision on your part. If you are interested in NetJets, keep a good eye on the happenings. If (and I hope it's "when") HBA is opened up to all pilots, there will be another flood of potential new-hires like there was after the TA last fall. And as you well know, seniority is important so you'll want to be on the front edge of that wave and not the back end.
