How did I get thrown into this mess.
The company is more than able to open up HBA's for the new hires if they want to. From what it looks like they are going to have to. Eventually the pool will dry up and they will have to do something. Look at the 26 gateways under the old contract. The term if you do not study history you will be forced to repeat it comes to mind.
I don't believe that the new hires got screwed because they know what the job is now before they get hired. If they wish to commute that is THEIR choice. I know it sucks but eventually it came down to the current pilot group was going to have to give up major gains to fix the companies mistake. I was not willing to do it because i know about past history with this company and I know the pool will dry up. The last TA which was a miserable failure not only screwed new hires it screwed the current pilots in the gateway system. I would have had to come to work a day early to get into position. Thats a step backward.
The contract was an industry leader but it is just another rung up the ladder for all pilots. The next contract will be another fight and we will raise the bar again.
By the way h2b i used to fly a king air out of GSO. Is that restuarant called hole in the wall by the airport still around?
