Did Marriott for a long time. Then started staying at Hilton family hotels (Hilton Garden Inn being my fav) with change in employer. Recently, My Company changed hotel chains to Starwood for certain cities. Several Sheratons are old Dinosaurs and need to be either tore down or sold but the other Starwood Brands we've been delighted with especially Westin, W, Aloft, Element and St. Regis. They are really nice but very pricey sometimes but when you are away and someone else pays, one should never complain.

Westins usally good, Ws also....and St Regis always better than Jw Marriotts!
