The meaning is exactly as stated. If you have any friends who work for UPS ask them for any help possible. Take them out to dinner, etc. Best wishes.

I guess with a quote like this I can see why you are still a Embraer F/O, but never the less you completely misunderstood my point. Currently UPS has over 8000 resumes on file. You can imagine how many more will be received now that hiring has been announced. Don't you think it would be wise to put forth a little effort to ensure your resume is put to the top if possible. In the 15+ years at UPS I have gotten 4 guys hired. Bad odds for my close friends but that's all that made it through. Not one ever bought me that meal they promised once they were hired and you know what it doesn't really matter. I am just glad they realized their dream just like I did.
Now as for the Denny's tab. I make it a rule for me as Captain to buy all the first meals no matter where we eat and usually all others. If there is ever a probation pilot around it's always compted. They struggle enough without wasting money for a dinner. So mister in the future be careful who you bash on this chat room sitting behind a keyboard. It might just be the fellow who buys your next round. Best wishes and thanks for my next jumpseat. It's always appreciated.
Cheers,

REMEMBER ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING

And this is different from any other airline how? With all the competition to get into this profession, and to be more exact, this airline, you need something to set apart some from others. There are plenty of people out there who are qualified, but do they fit the profile the company is looking for? Remember, one may send in a resume that meets or exceeds the mins, but a resume cannot tell a prospective employer about his/her character.Dinger said:I wouldn't call it disgusting, just discouraging. Dinger,Dinger said:Duh......obviously it is the way it works in this industry. It isn't any more so at UPS. I know you have a good job and may have taken offense. My point was that it can be discouraging if you don't know anyone at THAT AIRLINE. It isn't any different at "brown".
I am not a low-time King Air F/O hoping to make it to the majors. I realize what this industry is like......I've been there, been furloughed.
Next time I will be more clear.....and quit eatin' all my gad domn oreos clyde!

Nah, don't worry about it. Actually, when I read it I took it as a non-offensive comical "duh", and chuckled at it. Something I would have said, so you're still o.k. in my book if that helps. No offense taken, no apology needed.Dinger said:Clyde.....no sweat. I went back and read my post today, and I apologize for the "DUH", that was pretty uprofessional (and possibly high-schoolish). I was going to just edit it, but I figured that enough people have read it already, so I might as swallow my pride and say I'm sorrrr......I'm sorrrrrr.....I'm sooooorrrrrrrr......my bad.
