I'm not a Baboon!!

Duh......obviously it is the way it works in this industry. It isn't any more so at UPS. I know you have a good job and may have taken offense. My point was that it can be discouraging if you don't know anyone at THAT AIRLINE. It isn't any different at "brown".

I am not a low-time King Air F/O hoping to make it to the majors. I realize what this industry is like......I've been there, been furloughed.

Next time I will be more clear.....and quit eatin' all my gad domn oreos clyde!
Dinger,

No offense taken, I think I may have misread it. Yes, the tough part about brown is who you know, and getting to know the right people can be tough. However, I will say this much. I've flown with people here who had some rec's from some pretty high-up people and they say that's the only way they got here. I have also flown with people who just applied and then received a call. I'm not sure how true that is now, but I heard an unconfirmed rumor that at least one person recently was called for an interview with no rec's. Again, I emphasize that it was just a rumor and I can neither confirm nor deny it.

BTW, I'll quit eatin' your oreos if you leave more bannanas around here for me!!

Anyone know how the contract proposals have looked? Currently the starting pay is paltry and all pay is grossly behind FedEx. Have any of the pay proposals been talked about outside of negotiations?

Clyde.....no sweat. I went back and read my post today, and I apologize for the "DUH", that was pretty uprofessional (and possibly high-schoolish). I was going to just edit it, but I figured that enough people have read it already, so I might as swallow my pride and say I'm sorrrr......I'm sorrrrrr.....I'm sooooorrrrrrrr......my bad.

Nothing official, but I've heard numbers of around $125K-135K for a mid seniority F/O to around $250K-260K for a senior captain. I doubt that probationary pay will increase much since that's the companies call.

Dear UPSer

I'm an F/O and my W2 has exceeded 140k for the last three years. No opentime. How is 125 to 135 an improvement?

Mid seniority FO is now $102....if you can make $140 now, then think what you could make if the mid level was $130.Sounds to me like it could be an improvement.

Nah, don't worry about it. Actually, when I read it I took it as a non-offensive comical "duh", and chuckled at it. Something I would have said, so you're still o.k. in my book if that helps. No offense taken, no apology needed.
