You guys know your personal headset doesn't have to be TSO'd, right?

It varies by each airline. The place that I work specifically says in our GOM that only TSO'd headsets are to be used in the cockpit. The place I used to work had no mention of that whatsoever.

Do Telex 850s not work well in the ERJ? They work great in the CRJ series. After using the Airman 850s I can never go back to clamps.

It varies by each airline.

Correct.

Your first step regarding a TSO headset requirement would be to check with your individual airline as they can have policies which are more restrictive then the FAA.

As far as the FAA is concerned, the only time you'd be required to use a TSO headset would be when the aircraft you're operating received its Airworthiness Certificate and a TSO headset was a required component of its certification.
