Guys/Gals,
I've been out of the loop for a while and was curious about the payscale of a chief pilot managing 6-7 aircraft,18-21 pilots, all hawkers for a charter company in let's say NY. I am talking about just salary, no perks except medical coverage.
I'd appreciate your replies.....
Well, there's a guy doing it for 80k and there's another doing it for 200k. Gotta really feel them out and make sure they're realistic about keeping a chief pilot around. 6-7 aircraft is a big workload and you should be compensated along the lines of the NBAA survey. Most folks I know wouldn't want the headache for less than $150,000. If it's a new company and they're hesitant to carry such a salary work on a strong shared revenue agreement. If they bite get a good attorney for the language so you don't get dumped once you've got all the aircraft up and running.
