Thanks. Back to the Learjet and Challenger. Dreaming of becoming an airline pilot, not so much, because I know I can't make it.

Fixed it for you.

That makes sense. Let's cancel some high-yield, profitable flights and move the airplanes to the Bay Area to compete with someone we're trouncing.

Yeah, right.

You are correct, it does make sense. HA seems to be successfully focusing more and more of it's main resources on new routes to Asia, and raking in money to boot (seeing that their main pax demographic buys tickets in yen while they buy fuel in dollars. Look up the exchange rates and do the math). So why not re-deploy the remaining West Coast fleet to more profitable routes, and maximize the profit of a stable market while growing in other ones? Also, last quarter HA made a 25 million - ish profit if I remember the newspaper blurb correctly. Alaska is a good company too. Be happy with that. Plenty to go around for everyone.

Hey, I'm not bashing HAL. Just pointing out some schedule changes. It was Dan who got as defensive as a SWA F/O on an SLI thread. I found that curious since he was all over the SWA guys like a cheap suit.

Not just the SWA F/Os got defensive about SWA bashing. Some of us junior captains got defensive as well. You know, when other airlines' folks substitued their opinions as facts in determining what was "fair" and all.

Not that I'm mentioning any names or anything, but some of us junior captains are a little defensive about being stiffed out of gambling payoffs as well..... :)

Let it go, Bubba. You'll feel better.

The young fa's tend to get stuck on the GDL or MEX all-nighter. Go figure.

BTW, It's best to put Fubag on your ignore list like his pilot group has.

LOL. I did make the point earler that I certainly don't judge the AK pilots by his posts!
The reality there is always going to be a lot of airlines that come over here, you guys bring a lot of traffic here and that is good for Hawaii, which is good for us. We do fine and will always have a significant market share with people who want to go to Hawaii on Hawaiian Air and Hawaiian is very popular with the residents of Hawaii.
We are not going to kick anyone's ass, we are not out to dominate the world, we just have a good product that there is room for in many places. Near as I can tell there will be some more Asia flying, Canada, NZ and more Australia has been mentioned and the A350's are for non stops to Europe in 5 years. We'll see, like most here I'm cautiously optimistic as anything can happen.

For some reason Fubi thinks he has to attack everyone you guys compete with.
He doesn't realize it but he sounds like sacha or flyvixen from SWA. They are as different from the SWA pilots I've met as I'm sure Fubi is from most AK pilots.

Again, you're a total waste of bandwidth. Back to your little Learjet and dreams of someday becoming an airline pilot.

Judging someone by the airplane they fly is beyond arrogant. There are plenty of Learjet pilots that are just as good or better than any "airline" pilot.
