Has anyone interviewed at a legacy without a degree?

I have a friend at CAL with no degree. He got hired a couple of years ago.

Yeah a couple of years ago you had a better shot at it. For now, it has become very difficult to get an interview without one at CAL......very very difficult.

I'd say it probably happens, but the chances are slim to none. With the net so widespread these days, distance education via the net is everywhere. THere are several REPUTABLE schools that you can complete a degree online these days. Hell, even DUKE offers an online MBA. If you don't have one, get one.

I flew with several FO's that finished their degrees at Utah Valley State College (UVSC). They did everything online. Most of them have never even been to Utah except on an overnight. The school really seems to cater to folks that are already in the business.

Interviewed and hired with no degree at United in late 2000. I had accumulated 90 or so hours towards my degree though with okay grades. Its all about who you know.

Was offered an interview at CAL as well. Never went cause I didn't want to commute.

Southwest interviewed me in July of 05 without the degree but with the type. No second call as of yet, I don't know if the degree was a factor or not....

They knew that before you walked in the door...so no, not a factor.
