That was the dumbest, trashiest, talentless halftime show I've ever seen. Someone at CBS is going to lose their job for giving MTV producing rights. Come on, P-diddy, nelli, timberlake? Good grief! Please tell me this is not considered talent in this country. I mean, what age group watches the superbowl? I would think it would be males b/w the ages of 18 and 60. NOT the teenybopper group that would actually listen to that crap. I'd rather listen to milli vanilli that trash. I guess then the talent level would be equal.

Dude. No one watches the Super Bowl for the halftime show anyway. There just happened to be a surprise at the end...;)

This is how the Halftime show went.....

crap crap crap crap crap crap lip syncing crap crap crap crap crap crap crap crap more lip syncing crap crap crap crap boobage....and it's over

CBS' response:

NEW YORK (AP) -- CBS apologized on Sunday for an unexpectedly R-rated end to its Super Bowl halftime show, when singer Justin Timberlake tore off part of Janet Jackson's top, exposing her breast.

"CBS deeply regrets the incident," spokeswoman LeslieAnne Wade said after the network received several calls about the show.

The two singers were performing a flirtatious duet to end the halftime show, and at the song's finish, Timberlake reached across Jackson's leather gladiator outfit and pulled off the covering to her right breast.

The network quickly cut away from the shot, and did not mention the incident on the air.

Timberlake said he did not intend to expose Jackson's breast.

"I am sorry that anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance of the Super Bowl," Timberlake said in a statement. "It was not intentional and is regrettable."

Wade said CBS officials attended rehearsals of the halftime show all week, "and there was no indication any such thing would happen. The moment did not conform to CBS' broadcast standards and we would like to apologize to anyone who was offended."

The Super Bowl halftime show, which also featured P. Diddy, Nelly and Kid Rock, was produced by MTV, CBS' corporate cousin in Viacom.

"We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced halftime show," Joe Browne, NFL executive vice president, said. "They were totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the content of the show.

"It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime."

MTV issued a contrite statement in which it also apologized, saying the incident was "unrehearsed, unplanned, completely unintentional and was inconsistent with assurances we had about the content of the performance."

At least have someone attracted whose breast gets exposed. Sheesh.

Janet looks like Wacko Jacko and she looked attractive maybe 15yrs ago. She looks aweful and her breast looks like something out of a National Geographic special. Nothing to get worked up over.

Now if they had the Olsen twins..err wait, do they even have breasts yet?

I didn't think MTV has 'produced' anything but BS since, oh about 1985, when they stopped playing music videos.
If it doesn't involve (C)RAP or black 'culture', they won't play it.

btw,

they looked real. she must have some wonderful bras on her photos etc, cause that boobie just flopped down.

I agree with Jet. I think that CBS has now put their contract in jeopardy for future super bowl coverage. The NFL guys are very embarrassed and disappointed in this entertainment event, to use the term loosely.

The commercials were, for the most part, disappointing as well. Bud continues to lead the way with their ads. I still liked the one some years ago with the pigeon formations attempting to bomb a Toyota Camry, as I remember. That was a hoot!

I totally agree and believe it or not, for those of you who do not remember, MTV actually did play decent music prior to the mid-eighties. BET and MTV are one of the same as far as I am concerned.

What NFL executive chucklehead would even consider having crap MTV produce a half time show at a super bowl to begin with. What the **** were they thinking.

anyone else hear shaq say f*ck and $hit on his interview while coming off the court this morning? Comedy.

No, but I heard Craig Stratton say the exact say thing on Speed during the Rolex 24 when he was "bumped" backwards into the tire barrier with the *ss of his Porsche sticking up. All caught on in-car camera.

You gotta luv LIVE TV.

I had the Superbowl on mute until the fourth quarter. With everything silent, the MTV style taking over big budget themes lately lost its luster. It was pretty disgusting really.

Yes they do......and they'll be 18 in about 4 months. Not bad since they're worth 150 million EACH.

BTW, Milli Vanilli couldn't perform last night because one of them died about 6 years ago from a drug overdose. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused. :D :D

Hmmm, I guess we won't be seeing them on VH1's 'Bands Reunited' series. I was kinda looking forward to that show. Oh well.

;)

It is amazing what a good undergarment can do for an otherwise challenged body part.

MTV has really gone down hill.

I saw former VJ Mark Goodman's wife at Ed Sciaky's funeral in Philly yesterday. She's still hot after 25 years. Martha Quinn still looks good, too. Ed was the guy that started playing people like Sprigsteen and Billy Joel when no one else was doing it, and continued to present new artisits when this was "permitted" in radio.

What a shame that MTV has gone after this demographic.

Tangental contrast

This was a publicity stunt. No more-no less. It is sad that the perpetrators have no idea that they have desecrated an American tradition.

Anyone remember Meat Loaf singing the National Anthem at the All Star game? It was 10+ years ago. I did not see it live, but a local radio news station played it the next morning as I was driving to work. Made me want to pull over, get out and stand at attention--absolutely thrilling. Never heard anything so stirring before or since.

Now we have Janet Jackson's naughty bits. Who-hoo.

Proud to be an American, I am; despite the best efforts of some, or at best their ignorance.

From what I understand, they have been owned by a black consortium since the mid-late 80's.
What an excellent form of mind control for Americas youth! ... "We'll have the entire country thinking it is cool to walk around going "yo yo yo wuzzup" while wearing baseball hats sideways and hip hugger jeans while speaking Ebonics!" Pure trash propoganda.

As far as the boobage display..someone said it earlier. How come they couldn't get someone nicer to display their boobage? *sigh*
I still think that may have actually been MJ up there trying to dodge the courts. Will I ever sleep again?

The amazing thing is, that there was more nip on the CBS halftime show than there was in the Lingerie Bowl.

The should have gotten Lil' Kim to do the show, she wouldn't care if she had a titty hangin' out! :D

Hmmm, I don't think so

Well, let's see....MTV is owned by Viacom. Last I checked, Viacom was not found under "black consortiums," whatever that means. They also own Country Music Television. Any mind control there? How about Blockbuster? Nickelodeon? Well, I can see Nickelodean. I've never quite trusted that SpongeBob Squarepants....he's shifty looking, ain't he?

And the Lingerie Bowl sucked.

Peace,
DP

At least Kid Rock did a good job

You mean the only one who actually sang?

What a novel concept...a singer who actually sings!

I'm amazed how many people actually watched the half-time show.

:p
