Not Impressed!

FN FAL,

You are another gun freak loser!

We are talking about airplanes here not guns!

Your knowledge of guns impresses no one except other gun freak losers!

You are missing the point moron!

Are all you gun wacko's small in the shorts or something, is that what it is? Are you supplementing you manhood?

The point is this:

If you open the door so you can fulfill your longtime boyhood fantasy of becoming a hollywood type action hero, you may very well aid them in killing thousands of additional innocent Americans!

The CVR will put you in the history books as the biggest idiot of all time!

Though you are already proving that in this thread!

Ciao

FLX 757,

How in the heck is someone else gonna open the cockpit door?

With their plastic spoon?

The darn thing does'nt even have a handle?

FFDO - Come look at my shiny badge little girl!

What a joke!

This is my favorite part!

Before you can come back here on this forum and lecture anymore on who should and who shouldn't be doing so and so and this and that with guns...you better know the difference between a Title I and Title II firearm, an AOW and an SBR, and a clip and a magazine...or you are just plain talkin sheeit.

What firearms acts occured in 1934, 1968, 1989, 1986, 1994? What's the difference between the FOPA and the NFA ACT?

You sound like you are quoting a movie, are you one of the weirdo's that thinks he is living in a hollywood movie?

I can hear the drama in you voice while reading this, I can almost see the conviction in your eye.

You should look into an acting career.

Or seek therapy!

HOLY SHlT, is that you Mr. Benchly??

If you think an FFDO is going to open a door to deal with a threat in the cabin, you have no understanding of how it really works.

Tell me who has a BETTER chance of survival:

A pilot armed with a crash axe and a waterbottle that just had his door breeched.

A pilot armed with a firearm that just had his door breeched.

If you think a cockpit door can't be breeched and flight crews aren't currently being cased, you truly are living in a fantasy land.

Or one of them hi skool stoodents........... ;)

If they were banging on the door, do you think I would just fly along straight and level allowing them to have their way with my door?

Sound's like you would just sit there proceeding to destination with your gun pointed at the door?

There is a reason 99.9% of pilots are laughing at the FFDO "program".

Just face it, the gun is'nt gonna make you cool, the badge is'nt gonna make you cool, the uniform is'nt gonna make you cool, you are just an underpaid bus driver!

You're pointless and not open to logic. Any further discussion over this matter with you is a waste of everyone's time.

Flight attendant opens door to step in and hand two trays of food to pilots. As soon as she starts to open door, someone bolts from first class, easily mows over other flight attendant blocking isle and is now inside cockpit with door closed behind him slitting the throat of flight attendant with knife that he can easily get aboard an aircraft.

Now he is locked in the cockpit with two unarmed pilots who, like Mr. inthegoo, had their head in the sand thinking it could never happen and are now unarmed fighting this guy with no help cuz they're locked inside the hardened door with him.

Would you wish you had an FFDO with you then? Of course not because it could never happen, right?

Its attitudes like YOURS that will kill THOUSANDS because you are too ignorant to defend yourself and the cockpit.

INTHEGOO, go away. This is not www.moveon.org. When you can stand up to the grown-ups, come back.

P.S. Hillary, is that you?

For something that wasn't meant to be bait goo, you have gotten awfully personal and confrontational. Leave the serious stuff to the adults and go back to the kiddy table. I am sure there are plenty of airplane pictures to color there. When you want to have a serious discussion about the pros and cons (yes, there are both) of the FFDO program, return with logic, facts, and an open mind.

So we go from the assertion that gun-totin' pilots are terrorist blasting Dirty Harry superheroes, to you thinking you're a Chuck Yeager super-pilot that will use his unmatched pilot skills to pin the terrorists against the galley ceiling like a gerbil on a velcro wall, while you shoot a CATIIIB by hand, then stop and shut down directly in front of the hostage rescue team. Tell us how long your skills will keep a group at bay while you are 2 hours from land on a SJU-JFK leg?

Unless you are flying little plane or a 727, you stand a big chance of getting out of sync with you evasive manuevers and causing very large structural parts to fail and fall off the aircraft. Let us know how much "G" available there is to throw the attackers off balance at FL390 while heavy.

I won't cover what I think here, I can think of more than a few ways. Until I see this same type of doors in places like bank vaults and casinos, I expect to have another layer of safety for my aircraft and my country to back up the door in case of failure.
Install the door in a typical prison and see how long it lasts. All the inmates have is a bunch of plastic spoons, right?

Dear Mr. or Mrs."INTHEGOO"...can you please explain to all of us "gun freak losers" out here where you get your information?
1)"Come look at my shiny badge little girl." We were not issued a badge...just an identification card with a photo.
2)"99.9% of the pilots are laughing at the FFDO program" Really??99.9% of WHAT pilot group? Student pilots?? The pilots I know are overwhelmingly in favor of the FFDO program, even with it's flaws. The training is provided by some of the best instructors in the country...most of them ex or current special forces, as well as civilain law enforcement.
As you hurl your insults at those of us who are doing whatever we can to make this system safer, please be reminded of what JFK said in 1961:"When there is a visable enemy to fight in open combat...many serve, all applaud, and the tide of patriotism runs high. But,when there is a long, slow struggle with no immediate, visable foe, your choice will seem hard indeed." Seems pretty relevant...43 years later. Think about it.

I wonder how many terrorists read this board or others and eat up all the scenarios and gain intel on the firearms program. Or get excited to find that there are people that are foolish enough to lobby against guns in the cockpit.

Mark

No big secrets here.

More information than this thread can be found on the internet via the various newspaper stories on the FFDO program and the scenarios so for suggested are the most obvious that anyone brighter than Mr Mc(inthe)Goo can think of. No one has divulged any sensitive material here. We may have some red diaper doper babies that are opposed to armed pilots, but they also know that there are plenty out there as well. (unlike the BA pilots who have publicly stated they won't let any armed security personell on their aircraft)
