So we go from the assertion that gun-totin' pilots are terrorist blasting Dirty Harry superheroes, to you thinking you're a Chuck Yeager super-pilot that will use his unmatched pilot skills to pin the terrorists against the galley ceiling like a gerbil on a velcro wall, while you shoot a CATIIIB by hand, then stop and shut down directly in front of the hostage rescue team. Tell us how long your skills will keep a group at bay while you are 2 hours from land on a SJU-JFK leg?inthegoo said:If they were banging on the door, do you think I would just fly along straight and level allowing them to have their way with my door?

Unless you are flying little plane or a 727, you stand a big chance of getting out of sync with you evasive manuevers and causing very large structural parts to fail and fall off the aircraft. Let us know how much "G" available there is to throw the attackers off balance at FL390 while heavy.
I won't cover what I think here, I can think of more than a few ways. Until I see this same type of doors in places like bank vaults and casinos, I expect to have another layer of safety for my aircraft and my country to back up the door in case of failure.inthegoo said:How in the heck is someone else gonna open the cockpit door?
With their plastic spoon?-GOO
Install the door in a typical prison and see how long it lasts. All the inmates have is a bunch of plastic spoons, right?
