Anyone else hear this or is it just a lot of wishful thinking??

Ramping up for something... maybe. The fact they aren't sending more instructors back to the line is very telling. Not like it has been in previous slowdowns. No one has been hired that wasn't already in the mix.

Excited? Hardly. Try "scared, nervous, worried, unsure." Even if we get new planes it won't necessarily be a good thing.

Maybe they are loading up with management pilots to be in a better position when XJALPA strikes.

i have nothing to do with mesaba, but how in the hell could you be excited about a time like this. I mean come on, the pilots have already said that they aren't going to take that pay cut crap. The last time i checked, I have never talked to anyone that was happy to be bankrupt.

thats what I am saying but I keep hearing people are excited..... maybe they don't care about pay and just want that shiny jet. To clarrify the person that i hear is most excited is a mgr. type who has supposedly made multiple trips up to montreal

The only news I've gotten was a Saturday delivery FedEx telling me that I'm done in two weeks.

"Captain" Ed didn't even bother to sign it...

Sure they will get excited because they are all getting paid well. Whoooo hoooo! We here at Mesaba are going to get some of Pinnacle's Airplanes! Hell we might even get a CRJ 700!!!!! But guess what, its only going to bring them back to the original number of aircraft they had with the avro. The pilots will be paid LESS than Pinnacles pilots as well. That is pretty hard to do. And in all this celebration, Pilots at pinnacle who have put up with crap pay and work rules are now going to be let go.

It is amazing what two Jet engines can do to someone's pride.

oh and one other thing, and none of this is directed at you or mesaba pilots by the way, I hope the best for you and Pinnacle pilots, but there were rumors for the longest time that pinnacle execs were down in the E170 sims and that there was a E170 on the property in MEM, and none of that will amount to anything either.

Back off Boxes.....Go flame on a cargo thread

I don't care if they get 1000 CRJ's. I'm not coming back for those insultingly low proposed wages, PERIOD.

Not 1 Cent!!

^Word.

I dont care if we get a mix of 787s, Concordes and A380s..... I still wouldn't fly them for $19,000

I think Embraer went to every regional trying to peddle there plane. I know they came to mine and nothing happened. They were just trying to sell their product, so I wouldn't look too much into it

Stick,

I know you're reading this, where's the optimistic outlook? I get the walk of shame tomorrow as I will stand in line for unemployment for my 1st pay raise since joining the ranks of XJ. Just wondering what you think will happen now.....

That's my bet, pretty much right on the money. MSA is probably keeping training ramped up because their execs already know (or strongly suspect) that at least 20 or 30 of our aircraft are coming over to MSA property.

You also said it right on the money, too: with the 1113(c) they'll be flying them for less pay than PCL and, especially on the F/O side, that's pretty fu*king hard to do. I'm personally hoping Woerth refuses to sign off on any concessionary deal and you guys end up forcing management's hand to keep your agreement or bury the place.

That's not flame or directed ill will at Mesaba pilots, I have several good friends over there who are directly threatened by all this, I'm just tired of the continuing degradation of our careers.

It is amazing what two Jet engines can do to someone's pride.
I'd say the same thing about the unemployment line. Been there, done that.

SJS syndrome: only idiots are susceptible and the only cure is a blanket party or a baseball bat.

by the way, I don't fly cargo, I work for NWA in some way shape or form, and I am not posting any bait at all, think about it.......... If NWA intends to give Mesaba CRJs, do you really think that they are going to give them new ones when they are parking pinnacle's? Hell no they aren't. That is why I stand firm with this prediction. Mesaba will get a CRJ for every Avro and Saab they park, and they will fly them for crap pay. They also might get 50 or so 70 seats. As far as Pinnacle goes, they will lose those Crjs to Mesaba and either one of three things will happen, they will maybe get lucky and have those crj's replaced with 70 seats, but it is doubtful. They also might have the same thing happen to them as Air Wisconson and they might be told to start packing and looking for a new airline, but i don't think that will happen becuase NWA owns part of pinnacle. Third, Pinnacle loses those 20 to 30 and stays right there at that size. What ever the case, every pilot at mesaba and pinnacle will be supporting NWA in a couple weeks with a strike so we can all enjoy some time off together in honor of a good cause.

It's an easy prediction to stand by, considering the Bombardier has stopped production of the CRJ200. Kinda hard to get new ones when they are no longer being built.

Who will fly them? It's gonna be hard to find anyone willing to sit in the pointy end, considering what Jinglepants is asking crews to work for. Besides, I fully expect SF3 flying to be put out to bid as soon as the CRJ flying is resolved.

Spelling aside, facts are NWA spun 9E off in late 2003. Since you claim to be an NWA employee, you should know that the company gave 9E to your pension plan, who then spun the company off in an IPO. Ticker symbol is PNCL, and according to Yahoo finance, NWA is not a major shareholder. However, they did own 28% of XJ, with warrants for additional stock purchases. Based upon these facts alone, it made no sense for NWA to destroy their investment in Mesaba, but they did it anyway.

Pretty sure of yourself. The only thing you know is what you do not know. No matter what any chief pilot speculates, mgt type, etc. nobody knows what the plans are for 9E or XJ until they are announced by upper management. CEO type people. And believe me things are always business as normal until the announcement is made. And as far as you know NW could get rid of XJ all together. So do not be too cocky over there.

If i can believe my Fortune (magazine not FO pay) NWA kept 9E stock and just before Ch 11 put 300 mil of what was left into the Pilot pension plan. Now I would not put it past them to then pass the plan off to the feds and drive down the stock value through some sort of game. Big mtg at 9E bases on thursday to get phil'ed in on what's happening.

yeah, whats to be excited for? more airplanes? well only after the judge cancels our contract and imposes rates on us that will make the industry spin further down this hole ALPA has dug for us. And why will the judge do that? make us take such bad jet rates? well, the only thing i can see is a future member of some board of directors......or some retirement package that will be hidden better than the millions at MAIR holdings. why else would rates be imposed upon us when COMAIR has been already lowered to our "average rates for the industry'?????????????

Speaking of good news (or maybe it's bad?...).

"Realignment Notice 06-01" has been cancelled. I was sure I was gonna be displaced and have to commute....

And posted in another location on FI, and I just heard from my dad at NW, the Avros are being parked by early this summer. Hence the reason why the relaignment was cancelled.
