Good headsets

What are you CRJ drivers using for headsets these days? I've noticed a lot of Telex 850's and Sennheisers, but how about Clarity Alofts? My old DC's feel like hell after about an hour.

I've been contemplating the Clarity Aloft headsets for a while now. I'm hung up on the cost. Same goes for the Mach 1's.

Sennhesier HMEC 45-KA with the larger ear pads. They work great in the 700 and 200.

I have been using the Clarity Alofts for 2 weeks now in the 200. I love them. Cancels out more noise than the David Clarks, and it doesnt clamp your head. The bars over the ear, and on the temple, take some getting used to. You have to build it up just like you would a pair of glasses. PM me if you have any questions.

I've used the Mach1s, loved em, but didn't like having something IN my ear... personal preference but they did a great job.

I have the Sennheiser HMEC25s now, love em, but they're a lil short on battery life.... or I'm flying too much. I report, you decide. Either way, great headset, good sound canceling, and very comfy

I got the Senn 25's. I stopped putting batteries in them in the CRJ, the passive canceling works great. They are REAL hard on batteries.

The charge lasts for a loooong time. Much better than standard batteries. I use them in my senns and one pair will last about a month of flying.

$20 for a quick charger and 4 ni-cad AAs and you'll be fixed right up. I can normally get through 20-22 block hours on a single set of 2 batteries.

Combine that with the fact I got my headset off eBay for under 300 bones and I'm a happy guy.

I bought telex 850s. I really liked them for every reason except for the fact that they made my ears really sore after about 45 mins. My ears would actually pulsate, and I hated how it felt...so I returned them, and went back to my DC headset. Others have told me of the same problem. The 850s work for some and not for others.

hey spud...im looking at the mach 1's as we speak....im kinda iffy as to wether or not id like something in my ear as well.....did you notice pressure problems on hard descents or changes in cabin pressure?????....youd think that with something stuck in your ear canal you might experience some blockage...just curious as i have never used them

except you dont have to pay it up front. ~82/mo for 12 months, 0% interest. I say that after having dropped ~ $700 on a mach 1, shipping and custom earmolds. that was a chunk of change, by comparison 82/mo would have been much more affordable.

Bose X would be a great buy if you could plug in an ipod, or have bluetooth or cellphone capabilities.

I had the bose X used it for years. About a year ago I bought the clarity aloft. Works great, but takes some getting used to. Great sound quality...not as quiet as the bose but it also only weighs 1 oz. opposed to 12.

I tried the bose qc2's for about a week. They worked well in the 700...but in the 200 I noticed I had the volumes turned way up just to hear ATC. Did anybody else have this experience?
