Gear Horn Below 150 kts

Could someone give me a quick refresher as to why the gear horn in a Hawker will sound if you have flaps and no gear down and speed 150 and below. Then why doesn't it sound on takeoff????

never flown a hawker but, below 150K it thinks you want to land with flaps down. therefore, a gear horn.

Then why doesn't it sound on takeoff????

never flown a hawker, but probably a squat switch.

That part I understand, what is confusing me is why will the horn sound with flaps 15 and no gear down and 149 knots on approach, BUT NOT in Takeoff configuration when you get the gear up after takeoff and are still below 150kts

I believe you are correct. Not sure, but some A/C have horn inhibitors for the first seconds after T/O.

Next time on climb out, pull the power back to idle and see if the horn goes off

Yup...there's a thrust lever position interface (90%?) in the Hawkers, among other airplanes.

If I recall correctly, power levers below 60% N1, flaps 15, no gear down, 150kts = horn. That horn will wake the dead. Anyway Happy New Year everyone all the best.

wow... Usually throttle position, flap settings and usually indicated airspeed are influences on when the horn sounds in ANY aircraft....

Flaps to full or land should ALWAYS sound a gear horn and usually flaps at approach or around 15* a low throttle position will also sound it.

Next time on climb out, pull the power back to idle and see if the horn goes off
