It's unfortunate that when it all came down to it, Mesaba actually signed a contract with lower CRJ rates than Pinnacle. Talk about "undercutting" us. But even worse, look at their Avro rates - a few dollars more per hour than our CRJ rates and guess what? They are flying 20 - 26 more seats than our 44-seat and 50-seat CRJs (69 total seats). That's around 40 - 50% more total seats. But they don't get paid 40 - 50% more. You guys should be getting Comair 70-seat rates for your Avro rates. You have a bunch of lifers running your MEC who care more about the top end pilots (small percentage). But that's how all commuter airline unions are in my opinion.

The sad thing is that you all took the bait. Hook, line, and sinker!

And NO, you didn't get any good workrules. I can't believe you guys talked so much shi.t and then voted on it. And 66% of you guys voted on it! UNBELIEVABLE.

Your the one who took it up the A$$ when you bought your job at 9E. You guys sold out big time to get the CRJ's and your ass whoopin is about to begin as you enter contract Neg. soon. All you PFT punks and Gulfstream Kringos will be the last group of clowns to Hold the Line, yet alone raise the bar. You guys will sign a piece of crap contract in a couple years just like you sold out to get the CRJ's. Compare next years hourly rates all you want, but you know for sure how big a piece of crap your current and future contract is and will be! XJ's turn for glory while 9E becomes the ugly redhead stepchild once again and YOU KNOW IT !

I've taken sh!ts with more intellegence than that post.

Sold out to get the CRJ's?! Your payrates are LOWER than ours....now who's the sellout?

I am ashamed to think I supported a pilot group that had assholes like you in it.

For LESS than a year your CRJ rates will be SLIGHTLY higher than our CRJ rates but who really cares?? We don't even have them YET. By the time we get new RJ's our 44-50 rates will surpass yours and each year will get higer and higher than yours. What does your 44 cap out at?? Not even CLOSE to ours! Assuming equal hourly rates our contract is EASILY worth 10-15% more pay than yours and don't even try to defend your pathetic work rules...XJ is in an ENTIRE different league than you PFT clowns! The sell out 9E contract ISN"T EVEN CLOSE to Mesabas OLD 1996 contract so don't even try to argue this one.

Once again here we go.

Pinnacle, I plus most other pilots at Mesaba are hoping for the best in your upcoming negotiations. Because what is good for you is good for us and vice versa. Our pay rates are industry average at best. (excluding FO Avro pay). Our work rules are top notch.

For those at Pinnacle that don't know let me explain.

1. We get paid Block or better. That means that if we overfly block by one minute we get paid that one minute. If we underfly block by fifteen minutes we still get the full block. You guys don't have that in fact I believe you have to overfly block by fifteen minutes before you start accumulating overtime. I average an extra hour of pay for every seven hours schedualed.

2. Flight cancellations we get full pay. I believe you guys get half.

3. Time in a half for any junior man event or picking up trips in open time. This is fairly huge for me. I will usually pick up at least a day trip a month and credit an extra 9-11 hours of pay a month. I believe pinnacle doesnt have a time in a half provision.

With just these three work rules we far exceed pay scales from competing regionalsl. So to all, quit comparing pay scales with each other because there is much more to a contract that increases W-2 earnings.

By the time we get new RJ's our 44-50 rates will surpass yours and each year will get higer and higher than yours. What does your 44 cap out at?? Not even CLOSE to ours!

How can you claim this? By the time you do get CRJ's, we'll most likely have a new contract with new rates. Currently our rates top out at 82.37 for 14-15 years. How many years does you contract go to, 18-20 years? The only reason your payscale will exceed ours next year is because beyond '04 we don't have pay scales.

No one ever claimed that PCL's contract is better than Mesabas. Most of us(PCL and MSA) bought into the talk of the MEC and results were less than anyone was expecting.

How can you claim that PCL sold out to get CRJ's. Can the same be said of you when you get CRJ'? How about the AVRO's. You took concessions to get them. You are still working under concessions in the area of a single pay scale for FO's.

Wychor Must GO !!

Simon Says: You are correct that we have better workrules. But, we've always had better work rules than 9E. To sit there and say that we have had an improvement this time around compared to the 96' contract (work rules) is ignorant. Please tell me which rule - besides a 4 hr min. day - is different this time around.

I guess you also aren't interested in pay. All I hear from this MEC is that we can't look at just the pay, it's what's on the W2 at the end of the year. Well, if the work rules haven't changed much from 96', and we arent looking at pay, than what item is going to increase my W2? This was a sell tactic by Tom Wychor.

He blew it and he knows it. Now he's covering his ass, and XJXJXJ was sent out here to try and sell it to this bbs.

Pinnacle pilots: Sorry guys, 34% of us voted NO. Unlike the lambs that were led to slaughter, we know that this was all an MEC/ALPA/NWA Woerthless move from the start. Guys like XJXJXJ and Simon Says took the bait & voted Yes because they were afraid that the company would lock them out, if we shot this TA down, so they caved to keep their jobs, while surrendering their pride and integrity at the table. Had we voted it down, Wychor I am sure was prepared to ratify it on his own.

But hey, enjoy that Retro check- minus union dues.

AvroDriver, If I really need to explain to you all of the work rule enhancements (other than 4 hour Min Day) that were gained in EVERY section of the T/A than you truely are some fool out there trying to stir the pot. I highly doubt you are even a Mesaba pilot by making such a foolish ignorant post. IMPROVED WORK RULES AND ENHANCEMENTS WERE GAINED IN EVERY SECTION WHICH BENEFIT OUR PAY AND QUALITY OF LIFE.

Explain the pay and QOL gains made by your instructor pilots.

So tell me. You guys on the MEC are real good at spinning the facts. What work rules have significantly changed that we didnt already have. A summary will be fine. Grow a backbone and tell the truth for once.

I'm not arguing that you made workrule improvements, XJXJXJ, you did, and thats adrimable. I am referring soley to pay increases. I just have a hard time believeing that this contract was what you all had in mind on the night of January 9th.

If I could change the subject, What kind of reserve time is there and what would be an average upgrade time there at Pinnicle? How much does the per diem really add up to at the end of the month and how's the overall quality of life for the newbe at Pinnicle.

Interview coming up, any info would help. Thanks

Scroll up.. current upgrade 2.5 years. Reserve will probably only be a few months. There is lots of hiring going on. As of now, most if not all new hires are going to MSP and DTW.

Per diem is all going to depend on how much you fly. Reserve could be hit or miss. I'm on reserve and get about 300 - 350 a month in per diem.

Study the commercial and ATP written.

Oh, btw it's Pinnacle ;)

Good luck.

You need back off a little. Most all here at Pinnacle support you at XJ. We are NOT all PFTers. I came here with 2600 hours, sat in the right seat for a year, then upgraded. I have not paid this company anything for my job. I think you are a real tool to assume that everyone here is PFT. Back off, why do you feel you need to come to this forum and sell us YOUR contract anyway? It is your deal, not ours.

So I guess you guys didn't sell out for the AVROS???? What was that....gave in 96 I recall??

Hey and thanks for the support for our next contract. I'll remember what a "professional pilot group" you represent in the future. All we get is a slap in the face from Mesaba. Thanks again!

And if you don't believe what everyone else is saying about the deliveries why don't you just read it yourself!

Happy flying that piece of a contract...oh sorry "industry leading" contract!
