I wouldnt' worry about it. But historically there has always been a percieved aversion of the majors from hiring from "their own" regional carriers. If you wanted to someday work for AA, you should stay away from Eagle, if you wanted to work for United, stay away from ACA...CAL, CALX. If fact, when I was at CALX you couldn't even apply to CAL since you were stuck in the flowthrough. You'd have to quit to apply.
Anyway, the conspiracy theorists always said "oh they don't want to cause two training cycles and it costs the company money to hire from the feeder...". Who knows. But in my DAL class we had a former ACA pilot. (1 of 30) Everyone else was fmr military, other major, or other regional. We also had one corporate guy.
In reality, the military guys have the hiring edge (at all majors) and the rest of us fight for the other 1/3 of the class.
Just keep being professional and have a positive attitude and you'll do just fine wherever you go. And when you feel the need to be totally unprofessional you can always come here and call us a bunch of losers.
Yeah, those ASA guys have nice rumps! Give me a break. They helped our furloughs and Comair did not. Whether or not the pilots made the choice---they atleast supported it, unlike most of the Comair pilots. Too bad francis!
