Thought a new Frontier Interview thread start might be in order since the other one has topped over 30 pages.

Since I have recently submitted my app to F9, I decided to read up on whats being said around this board. It is so great to hear all the positive vibe that is surrounding the airline and the hiring process. Congrats to everyone who has made it recently.

I had PM'd a F9 employee recently with a couple questions before I did my due dilligence and read all the old posts. I didn't realize exactly who I was bothering with stuff I could have read up on, sorry G.!

So I have a couple questions I hope ya'll could help me with:

1) How often would you recommend updating your flight times on airlineapps.com, and how accurate should they be? (mine are currently rounded off to the nearest 10 hour incriment)

2) How many outside letters of recommendation would you have ready? I unfortunately do not know anyone at F9 - not my neck of the woods, right now anyways :) I know this is somewhat of a problem, but I am optimistic!

3) Is relocation to DEN required? I saw relocation listed as a requirement on the Frontier website and in the airlineapps stuff. Definately in the cards if necessary.

4) Has anyone been called for an interview very recently? (thread topic) I know it is coming soon, but I thought I would go ahead and throw it out there to get a new thread started. :0

Cheers

I got the invite to interview on 7/25. I have been waiting for this day for a long time now. Anyone have information on the interview? I know there has been countless pages written about the topic but I have heard rumors that the interview process was going to change. Anyone know if there is any truth to that rumor and if so, any tips/hints on how to prepare? Thanks in advance!

These responses are merely my opinion, I don't have any involvement currently with the interview and hiring practices. But I figure it won't hurt.

1) I would update everytime I get back from a tour. I would do this because the addition would be easier and I believe they are able to track your activity as far as updates, and I believe many updates would be beneficial and show your intent. As far as rounding, I think they would understand that. However, I would show up at the interview with everything down to the tenth.

2) I would go with the standard 3 LOR's minimum. If you have 20 or more, I would bring them.

3) Relocation is not necessary, but I would recommend it. I believe they do favor those that will be "locals".

4) See above. Or wait for F9 Recruiter to post on here. He may be able to prove or dispel my opinions listed above, also.

Best of luck, hope it works out for you.

gobigred1, congrats and good luck. Husker fan by any chance :D ?

I was hired recently and just started OE. This is truly a great company and the people here are top-notch. As to your questions....

I recommend updating frequently...I'm not sure if that has to be every trip, but make sure that you are not going months between updates.

Recommendations....I would bring what you have. I had 4 outside letters at my interview, and they didn't really spend alot of time with them. The best way is to have a Silver Bullet. I realize that you don't know anyone here yet, but maybe that will change. Otherwise, I have heard that recent new-hires without a Silver bullet were attendees at the job fairs who met the Chief and assistant pilots there.

Do you have to move to Denver? Well, I have been commuting to the east coast since I was hired and throughout training. No problem with the commute, but I will be moving to denver within a year when I get the family ready. Your QOL will be even better than it already is, if you live in the Denver area. I think the stats are that a little less than 1/3 of the pilots commute.

Interviews....It is my understanding that the next class isn't till October 9 (or so) but that there is a interview class late july (25th?) and then probably 2 a month in august and september.

these are just my opinions, and may not be accurate, but this is definately somewhere you want to be. Hang in there and things will work out for you.

Thanks for the info and words of encouragement, fellas! On all items, you answered about what I figured. I wanted to make sure that relocation wasn't required, as it would be a big move for my family. However, not one we would be opposed to. Denver rocks!

I have an interview scheduled with Frontier on 7/18. I am looking forward to meeting with all the folks in Denver. Everyone I have talked to has great things to say about the company.

I suggest you continue to check this board periodically. I have obtained countless information about the company and its hiring plans here. F9 recruiter frequents the board and offers up accurate information and encouragement to future F9'ers. I don't think you would find any other airline that would be so up-front and honest. You will also notice that the morale, at least from what is posted here, seems to be very high.

Good luck with your future plans.

congrats

Congrats Deej, you will enjoy the interview process, at least as much as you can when your nervous! Just be positive and let your personality show through in the interview. As you know, no real gouge on the interview, they just want to get to know you as a person a little better. Doesn't hurt if you mention that you love Denver though! :)

I was wondering....for those of you that have interviews on the 18th and 25th....how were you notified about them? Did they call you or send you an email? I've got my stuff in with them and am hoping to be one of the lucky few to get an interview. Also, how much notice was given to you for the interview?

Good luck!!!
