Here is the abridged news from the CP's weekly memo:

The plan is to hire 132 pilots IN ADDITION to the ones already hired . This is to occur between now and March of 2007.

They are also projecting approximately 50 upgrades in addition to the vacancies that have already been filled.

They currently have more "silver bullets" than they can interview, let alone hire. However, not all people with a recommendation will get interviewed. So for those of you without an internal rec, don't get discouraged.

So, all this boils down to approximately 200 new hires and 90 upgrades. Also, the hiring numbers are through the end of the fiscal year, so I believe that the hiring will continue past March of 2007.

Hope someone finds this news worthy, and good luck.

Are there any ex-lakers out there that would be willing to throw out the life raft? I've got my stuff in but I'm shy an internal rec so I thought I'd give it a try.

Is it true that a pilot can only reccomend one guy a year?

Yes - and only once the pilot is off probation.

Thanks for the update. A silver bullet would be nice but wheres the excitement in that, ahh heck who am I kidding I would love to have one. Until then I will just keep looking to the skies and dream. All updates with F9 will be welcomed and appreciated.

Any further updates with Frontier would be appriciated.

I am an Ex Indy pilot. I have a A-320 type rating.

I was born and raised in Longmont, Co and went to Metro State and have an Aviation Technology BS from there. I would love to get an oppertunity to fly for Frontier. Moving back to Colorado is a dream of mine.

I just dont know anyone who flies for Frontier. From what I hear, you have to know someone who flies there to get a job there. If anyone can help me in any way, I would be very thankful.

I have all of my stuff in at Frontier.

Any thoughts/advice are welcome.

Plus, I could get season tickes to U of Colorado Football!!!

If you think you could help me out, shoot me an email to [email protected]

"silver bullet" This is an Alaska term. Whats up? Are we merging?

It is an Alaska term but we liked it so much that we borrowed it, thanks. I haven't heard the Alaska/Frontier merger for awhile but I've always liked that one better than the others. The only unofficial merger rumors floating around are Virgin America and of course jetBlue, but both are non-union so its doubtful. Good luck to all the prospective Frontier new-hire pilots.

That's Great news!

I just hope I get a call.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

ProV1,

I don't know if I'm actually in it. "Someone" said that "someone" told them they heard I was in the data base. Yeah, but so are a million Silver bullets. In NO WAY whatsover am I saying I'm in it. Even if I was, it doesn't assure an interview. It's just one of those "he said-she said" kind of things.

I'm just hoping for the best. I've yet to hear anything. Nonetheless, I'll continue to prepare myself just in case. ;-)

I'm just hoping we all get our shot.

ProV1,

How long have you had your stuff in? Do you have a silver bullet?

As for me, I have a great company LOR...just not a silver bullet.

I hope it's enough.

App

App in since the summer

Not sure if the "silver bullet" is the rec that is with the app or if it is something internal at the company. I have a rec from a good friend of mine working there so I am hoping that is the "silver bullet"

Hey fellas, best of luck to you both. I look forward to meeting each of you - it's worth the wait; I guarantee it. Actually, best of luck to all - I've been watching this board but not as much as I used to. There's a trend of folks who show a genuine desire and that's what F9 is all about. Keep chasing the dream. I'll be on the board more as time allows and help as much as I can.

6 out of 10 in my class were from Great Lakes. From what I've learned, there are quite a few there from GLA. I would say if that's what you're looking at that your chances are great. I know they have a very rigorous training program and you get a LOT of flying, all by hand if you're in the 1900 too.

Good luck whichever path you choose!

Hey thanks, that is fairly promising. I know Lakes used to send a few over when I was working there. They all said Lakes was a good way to get in but that was almost 2 years ago now. Hopefully the trend continues in the next few years.

I am winking my eye to go Frontier later on.
Any company concerns with SWA going into Denver now a days?

10 out of 14 in my class were from AirWisconsin, but were GL prior to that...

I thought "silver bullet" was a COORS thing being in CO.

Oh come on, I thought this was common knowledge!

To get an interview, send a case of Coors Light to Human Resources at Frontier. Be sure to write your name in thick sharpie on the box. When they call you in, a keg of Coors delivered to the interview office will guarantee a position. You still need CMEL instrument airplane. Good luck!;)
