Fractional footwear

I wear Dock Martins in the summer and rubber soled zip up combat boots in the winter at NJA. Been here for 9 years and never had a problem. I think the black Justin boots would never raise an eyebrow.

I've always worn black Justin ropers during my time at NJA. Never had any comments about them being unacceptable. Our FOM says exotic skins and high heels are not acceptable.

Personal opinion alert!

Boots, no problem.

Shoes, perferred but in some of the weather we walk through... not the most comfortable. The snow and ice come in over the ankles.

Doc Martins... Nothing communicates amature to me more than a pair of Doc's on a professional crewmember... or someone trying to look like one.

They are not unifomr in color, they look like a Hummer 2 is strapped on each foot... but they are warm... and you have something to wear on the overnight.

Docs, Docs and more Docs! Eight hole Docs in the winter. My last pair of Docs lasted seven years. That includes walking two picket lines with them. I don't have the heart to throw that pair away.

That hurts my feelings ,Diesel. That is alll I've worn my whole life. Growing up I remember my dad would jog in cowboy boots (no joke). I wouldn't go to work in a pair of riding boots, but justin ropers are just fine. Diesel I take i your not from the Republic of Texas?

Don't listen to Diesel, he is still bummed about the Red Sox's season.
The fact is you can wear ropers and a few of us do, including me. Style number 3170. At least for winter. They are too warm to wear in June, July and August.

I know people at CS who buy their own shoes. You have to get prior permission if you want the reimbursement, but it can be done.

I don't know if they would reimburse for boots.

I have been wearing Docs for years. I love mine. Sure not for some people, but Ropers are not for me. They work for others. I do have a pair of Rockport boots I bought for winters, but the docs hold up well in the winter crap. "Oil Fat Acid Petrol Alkali Resistant". Deice fluid does not hurt the soles one bit. And at least there is a sole, unlike the wing tips I see some wearing. Ya those must be fun in the NE winters. Ramp skates.
Also, NO metal shanks! So they are TSA friendly.

To each his own I guess.

Roopers well at least you can put the calfs legs into the boots too.

Aria makes TSA friendly one as well, and they are not for calves they are for nervous sheep hooves.
Ropers make the farm animals feel taller too

What do you think we are, we have morales too, a calf is just a baby and to young ,it would be scarred for life. Sheep & goats man sheep & goats.

Just do a search. Finding them without the yellow z-stitching can take some searching, but it is possible.
