Enigma... it's spring time, time to wipe the snow off the tractor. :) :D

HA HA HA....

A day in the life at enigma's house.

Green acres is the place to be.
Farm livin' is the life for me.
Land spreadin' out so far and wide
Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside.

New York is where I'd rather stay.
I get allergic smelling hay.
I just adore a penthouse view.
Dah-ling I love you but give me Park Avenue.

...The chores.
...The stores.
...Fresh air.
...Times Square

You are my wife.
Good bye, city life.
Green Acres we are there.

Long story longer.

I once was trapped listening to Laura Schlesinger on a cross country road trip because it was the only radio station available. A caller calls in with an inpossible situation unlike the usual person who had be calling in and Dr Laura said, "all you can do is act with Dignity." I've found that one phrase to be the some of the best advise I've ever heard.

Arogancy took over this board long ago, and I'd say it is mostly from older legacy player when they took pot shots at LCCs. Instead of showing restraint and dignity, now that the tables have turned LCCs are firing back.

Back in the day (whenever that was) people used to say something to the effect that if you weren't working for UAL, you were working for something less and if you had to buy your typerating you were even lesser. For those of us who got our jobs since the heyday of the legacies, are greatful to fly for whoever. As a commuter guy I would've taken any of the top 10 and 5 others that weren't in the top 10 and been greatful for whoever it was and my loyalties would've run deep with whoever it was.

Think back to when you were interviewing, you would've taken a job with just about anyone and loved it. I would've.

If Deltablueguy had been hired by SWA and DL turned him down and LUVlover got hired by DL and snubbed by SWA their loyalties and beliefs would be 180 out. Being hired by SWA or DL or whatever doesn't make you a better person.

First of all, the dingnity displayed on this board reveals the type of person we truly are. When I see a post from a guy at XYZ flaming a guy at ABC, I think less of XYZ as a company. Why? that person is an ambassador of XYZ. And as a military member, (it's right there on the profile) I'm even less pleased when I see a military member not taking the higher road.

We all have frustrations in life, how we react to it reveals our character and dignity. Flaming someone on this board accomplishes nothing.

SMMustang,

Right on, Bro !! I guess the tone/direction of it all is what propted me to start this discussion. You were correct in saying that the company that hired you doesn't make you a better person...how could it ? Each of us is responsible for that.

You said, "...when I see a military member not taking the higher road...". Being a "pure civilian" ( my carrier loved to categorize people like that ), I can tell you that even WE occasionally find ourselves on that "higher road". And, even that particular distinction may be a source of some amount of friction...maybe.

As far as the whole military integrity speech... save it.

I'll let your own words answer that.

Get over it...

Its just a message board folks... this IS NOT real world life.

Some people would like to act with dignity even when anonymous. What we say on this board is what we want to reveal about ourselves.

It always has amazed me how anominity destroys people's civility.

It is the same way people act in big cities. People are rude and cut you off in traffic, 'cause who cares, I'll never bump into that person again. Try that livin' in a small town and see how well you get along in life.

I'm not saying I am perfect, I am as guilty as the rest.

But you can't spend time worrying about stuff you can not control--like how stupid and immature some people still act even after 40.

The only thing I can say is arguing online is like competing in the Special Olympics. At the end of the day, even if you win, you still look retarded! (And I have volunteered at the Special Olympics so all you PC types get off my case for insulting the poor retarded kids!)

Cheers

Good observation.
