I have explained this to you before. I work for not so great of an airline, myself.

I dont have a fight or a stake in this East/West debacle but In all HONESTY and observation, I think America West saved UsAir from extinction.

I am not trying to be rude or flame and I am sorry for butting in this thread but the majority of people out there did see USAir as the failure and America West as the savior.

You need to put down the kool-aid, be polite and stop casting stones. BINDING ARBITRATION is BINDING! Live with what you got and stop trying to dismantle it.

We need to be precise here. Everyone (save for many Easties and their apologists) knows that in 2005 US Airways was on the verge of liquidation while AWA was solvent, however, purely for accounting purposes AWA was listed as the acquirer of US Airways. The funding came from outside investors. Regardless, neither pilot group had anything to do with it. And for the record arbitrator Nicolau didn't entirely buy either side's view of the financial condition of the other.

I read my pretty little flyer from the West and almost fell in love with the West for being so nice to try to rescue me from brainwashing and poverty... but then thank goodness I logged on to Flightinfo.com and read a couple love posts to be shocked back into reality... whew, it was really close. Today I received a political flyer mailed from USAPA trying to blame the "junior, relatively young, America West Pilots who were subsequently furloughed as a result of this merger" as the culprits who are denying the rest of the US Airways pilot group an industry-standard contract.

How pathetic that this is who they chose to blame - people who had the ultimate sacrifice of being put out on the street while all the former USAir pilots were recalled and stayed employed. This proves the ultimate goal of the East- when the circumventing of the NIC was attempted- the East wanted to capture West Captain slots - and if downsized, they want to also capture West First Officer Slots! (But I know the comeback is going to be that the East pilots were integrated out of seniority - even though we are on separate contracts).

And finally, when the flyer concludes with a message to OUR Fellow Pilots - correction - we are plaintiffs and you are the defendants - USAPA concludes with " both East and West pilot groups are heavily armed legally and financially" - correction - they think the West still owes hundreds of thousands of dollars to our attorney - lets see how that works out when they are forced pay a judgment that awards damages to the plaintiffs.

And finally - how did USAPA get my home address? Maybe Cleary could ask for an investigation about that?

Nope, although I respect the guys who have put their lives on hold to protect the interests of their fellow AWA pilots. I just wanted to point out how the guys on both end of the bell curve are saying the same thing, just with the names reversed. I don't attempted to speak for anyone else on the West when I say I've become bored with the entire thing. You say, he says, she says, I say.... It's all just hot air at this point. I'm not saying I don't care. I'm just saying in my opinion, the seniority list issue was settled a long time ago. When it gets implemented is now in the hands of the extremists and the lawyers. I hope you are enjoying the ride more than I am.
