This has been going on so long that it is not worth mentioning. Copesa has been a favorite maintenance base for US lessors for years. People have sent aircraft all over the world for D checks in particular.

This is another area that absolutely kills legacy carriers.
 
Wake up Sleepy!

If you bothered to read the entire article you would have noticed that jetBlue Airways is not the only airline to do heavy maintainance outside of the United States. It goes on to say that America West does the same as well as United Airlines. In fact United Airlines sends it's heavy airframe checks as far as Hong Kong and China.

I am not too sure what you are trying to accomplish by using the title of "JB haters", but I think one thing is for sure, you have shown you own ignorance of how business is done today. So if your so sleepy try and get some rest and give the JB Haters thing a rest as well.
