foldable athletic shoes

i'll second the nike free. takes up about the same space as one normal shoe. nice and lite too.

I went out specifically looking for the Nike Free- and the most respectable 'runners shoe shop' in Columbus stopped carrying them because the ended up returning most that they sold due to 'not holding up' and 'falling apart' - FWIW.
