Don't miss DCA at all

I miss DCA quite a bit.

I was based there more than a year with AWAC and while I never experienced Signature, I enjoyed the superb controllers and the professionalism of the crews that went in and out of there daily. I always thought it was a true "pilot's airport", with nice views in good weather and P56 which forced you to turn off the automation and hand-fly the damn airplane.

I miss that river visual (to 19 was it?) and flying over, I mean near the Pentagon.
 
How does that business with the guard work? Are they required for outbound flights as well. How much do they cost? Thanks.
 
You can put your own security folks through the Armed Security Officer program or you can rent one (ASO). They are required for both inbound and outbound flights
 
We have had DCA access from the beginning. We keep it current in case anyone wants to go in there. So far we have never used it.
