There's really not to many shortcuts in this industry! Just start flight instructing like the most of us out there to build up time. It's pretty painless and quick if you just keep up a good attitude, and you actually learn alot believe it or not. Just some friendly advice, take it or leave it

I know guys who were hired into the right seat of a part 135 turbine twin with like 250 hours. However, they didn't "find" that job. They were already employed by their companies for quite some time as mechanics.

There aren't any shortcuts bud. Flight instructing is fun, why don't you give it a try? I know that I'm making a huge assumption there, but take it for what it is worth.

But I know of a few guys who were hired at 500 hours to fly VFR 135.

500tt

L.A.B. In alaska hires at 500 tt for 135 vfr passenger runs out of Juneau. Just mind the mountains. I hear planes and mountain are like magnets up there

I worked in scheduling and in operations for a 135 operation, flew right seat in Baron, and recently upgraded to a King Air. Wouldn't call it a shortcut (took longer than if I flight instructed), but I have a great inside knowlege of 135 operations. I still fly and work in the office to make more cash.

I think there are shorcuts and while I am looking for one I flight instruct.
I think I am a good instructor, but I dont want to be a career instructor( nothing wrong with that of course) and I know a couple of guys who did not instruct for long before they found their first right seat position in charter ops. I just wanted to know if it was unusual. thanks for the replies.

Absolutely its possible. As a matter of fact, i know my company likes to hire FO's with the least amount of time that they can. They know they will have that FO for awhile b4 he/she gets good enough quality time and moves onward.
