Any misdemeanor, in any country, world wide for which you have not received a pardon will keep a person from obtaining CANPASS. It doesn't keep you from entering Canada, they just want you to stop at a port of entry.
The company has hired pilots in the past knowing the pilot did not have and couldn't obtain CANPASS, and now has decided to press a policy emplimented after these pilots were hired.
The majority of the pilots with out CANPASS have been here quite a while (senior), so, as I said previously, it's just mgmts way of furloughing out of order.
