According to their webpage, they are no longer hiring at FLOPS? Probably something to do with the compete buyout... is FLOPS on the ropes?

If I were to guess, it seems as if they bought them out completely that, Raytheon has some sort of plan. You don't buy something outright without some sort of future plan with it. They obviously see some sort of profitability in the future of it. I would take this as a good thing. Even if they did it to sell it off to someone else would that be so bad?

Has anyone checked E-Bay lately?!

I heard it was cause we were gonna start doing bombing missions over Iraq/Iran. They already build the weapons and we are gonna be the new delivery system.:uzi:

wiggle your big toe...

They also "gave back" our mechanics - about 2 years ago our Flight Options mechanics became Raytheon employees.... last week, we were told that effective February 1, they will once again be Flight Options employees. I've talked to more than one mechanic, and they say that the attitude is sour, and there are grumblings of organizing the mechanics, because they are being played like pawns and have no say over anything - pretty major benefits changes going on with changing shops like that, not to mention Raytheon's pension benefits, etc.

The consensus is that now that we have the mechanics back AND Raytheon owns 100% of us, we are now in a position to sell us off. However, we're in a labor dispute. Most companies will not "buy" another one in the middle of a labor dispute, so I'm sure that will throw a monkey wrench in whatever their plans are on this.

Last week, Raytheon executives showed up in CGF and started chopping heads... the entire marketing department and then some were fired. This week, the CEO of Raytheon is here... why? Who knows. Some think Michael Scheeringa is dusting off his resume and his days are numbered.

Yes, I think we're getting the floors polished, the carpets cleaned, and the outside of the car washed because they are putting a for sale sign in the back window.

Im pretty sure that the facilitys were cleaned so that Bill Swansons shoes did not get dirty. They painted the walls too. BTW notice he flew in on a challenger? Not a RAC product. Supprised me anyway.

My guess is he flew in the challenger because he was afraid of flying in the hawker 400xp glider...........

before you all get mad....I fly the hawker 400xp glider

Whatever...the most important thing is that this union drive doesn't lose momentum with the distractions in the ivory tower.

Get that voting done!

Raytheon has deep pockets to line their executives with; this is chump change you guys are asking for!

So being that Cessna is the antithisis of Raytheon and vice versa. Will the Citation X's be heading for the auction block? What will become of Swift Air?

Which is why Options requires merger/succesorship language in its first contract: not to mention scope provisions!

Hmmmmm. I wonder what Ken Ricci's been up to lately. :erm:

I picture Ricci sending a flyer to all FLOPS pilots, with a picture of him holding up one of the old ugly ties, pointing at it and flashing a s**t-eating grin! " We're baaaaaaack!".

With his acquisitions of Mercury and other FBO's, KCR is gaining ever increasing control of fuel sales to GA on a national scale. With the purchasing power of Jet-A he now has, he would have a greater opportunity to profit from any assets he might mangage that use Jet-A.

Interesting thought.

Kenn taking over would be hell loads better than the current management. At least you felt good after the screwing from him.

I remember being at a meeting where Ken said that he believed that the Teamsters will get into Flight Options at some point.

Lets hope he was right.

That just stupid talk. Yeah onced you voiced your opinion you were fired. We still have enough those Ricci rejects still hanging around CGF. The Tim twins. Need I say more?

Yeh. May have been fired for voicing my opinion, but Kenn at least had a little, note I said a little, compassion for the pilots. Current management could care less whether we are happy or not. Actually, I think they're happier when we aren't.

Yeh. We're way too big now. At least then there was a name with the screwing you got.

ps. Damn, that was 2 years ago, wont you guys ever let it go??

Ha!

Hiring at Options

Well it's not much - but I checked the seniority list today and there are 8 new names on it. To my knowledge they hired a few classes towards the end of last year but these are the first new hires in 2 months or more.

Some quick rough numbers, I was hired in July of 04' some 18 months ago.

We had 946 pilots when I was hired, today we have 824. We have hired only 55 pilots in the last 18 months which is an approximate a loss of 177 pilots.

We had 212 airplanes and we were recently told we have 179 active planes.

Well the shrinking of the acft fleet was in the plans, however shrinking of the pilot force was not!!

If the union makes it on the property, perhaps it is Mr Tyler that will require representation.
