Okay guys lets get this back on track. I did nearly 8 years at flops. When i left we had about 900 guys and I was in the double digits on the list.

As an outsider with first hand knowledge of the inside I offer my 2 cents:

All of you need to be prepared to burn the place to the ground. Absolutely Absolutely do not make 1 compromise on any safety issue whatsoever.

Steadfast safety and professionalism could save your life or that of your fellow pilot.

Trust me guys there are many many jobs out there. Allowing yourself to be bullied with the the thought that things will get better is BS. Allowing yourself to be bullied because you are scared for your job is worse.

If you get fired for an unjust cause you file your lawsuits and find a new job. Starting over at a real company is better then what flops has become.

The strongest will survive and you guys are some of the most professional and competent pilots out there. Driving flops into the ground will be the final nail in the coffin for scheeringa who already has a horrible reputation in the airline industry but I can assure you that each and every one of you 5 years out will have readjusted to your new positions just fine.

Fight or Firesale that should be your new catch phrase

Well said!

Fud

First, you know nothing about Lorenzo or how many jobs he saved in the industry with his intervention at CAL or the consolidation of many of the failing airlines of the day. And futhurmore, my guess is that you know little about REALLY happened at Eastern. None of that though has anything to do with my opinion of unions. That opinion comes from personal experience.

Your really are Bob, aren’t you?

Also, my post about the list has little to do about unions and the FAA, even though they quickly grow tired of the BS.

You’re right. But, it has everything to do with FUD.

The point about the list was this. You post the list now and the list doesn't go away just because there is a CBA and pilots stop picking the airplane to shreds to slow things down.

Who says they’re going to stop? Hopefully the pilots will come out of this with a better idea about the plane they’re flying, and the “attention to detail” will continue.

A year after the CBA you have an air return at MKE and out of nowhere the list appears from the pocket of a bored PMI that has nothing better to do. Suddenly your day has gone to hell in a handbasket as the airplane is gone over with a fine toothed comb using the list as a guideline. I've experienced this more than once, and the MKE example is a true story (and without question the worst).

There is no list. All I’ve seen is a bunch of notes from pilots sharing their personal experiences. I’ve seen the same list as Simuflite notes. The official checklist uses terms like CONDITION and CHECK. Notes describing how to CHECK and determine the CONDITION are a natural by-product. Should I destroy all my notes from Simuflite and Flight Safety, because they might get me in trouble?

The only thing that is "union" about this story is that if the pilots weren't trying to slow the air carrier down as a result of the union activity, the list wouldn't exist for owners to feel unsafe and for the FAA to use against you.

More FUD

Whether the maintenance issues are valid or not, is it REALLY a good idea to post all the shortcomings of the airplanes for the public and FAA to see on a public message board? I think not and it would not be there without union presence in the carrier.

You had a chance to keep this out of the court of public opinion. Predictably, you didn’t.

B19, maybe there's a chat board out there for desk flyers... ever think of joining that one instead?

Fud,fud And More Fud

Why do you guys insist on repeatedly whacking yourselves on the thumb over and over again? Ignore B-19 and stay focused on the task at hand.

I've seen this stunt before. You are dumb enough to print this and use it against the airline on a message board you think is void of the FAA.

The FAA is smart enough to print this and keep it for after the CBA. Then, when things "calm down" they will ramp check you and look for these. Don't think for a moment that they won't ground the airplane and write you up for operating as unairworthy with undocumented discrepancies. I have witnessed this before, especially with new maintenance inspectors.

Sir, no one cares what your opinion is...

Right, those jobs are where? I can't remember flying anywhere on Eastern lately.

The IBT is not messing around and this latest management stunt suggests that they're feeling the pressure. Hey management, you ain't seen nothin' yet!

The following implication is not sanctioned by the IBT1108;
Peak travel is just around the corner!:smash:

You jackasses don't even realize that you pissed off enough pilots enough times that you're actually encouraging a work action during your precious peak travel period. What's funnier is that the pilots will sit back and watch the train wreck with a grin.:D

And you loose your job too idiot. Thanks a lot.

I think you had better learn how to spell "lose" before you start calling other people idiots.

Idiot.

I also spent a great deal of time at FLOPS (7 years) and moved on. It has only been recent that when I see a FLOPS pilot around they just now have the "Unity" that was hard to come by when I left. I love seeing all the FLOPS planes sitting on ramps waiting for MX to show up. Safety, Service and what was it? Bob ,Mike and Sanjay you went too far this time and the front line soldiers of FLOPS are ready to help you close the doors early. I don't think there is any hope of survival as they know it. At least they have their contract to fall back on. I guess you can add FLOPS to your resumes as another decent company destroyed by your mgt styles. I feel that even if they came out with a contract tomorrow that was the new industry leading contract the damage done to the pilots will be long remembered and not one inch of leeway would be given.
There are many great jobs out there but some of the guys on the road will not leave till the upper mgt is gone or the chains are put on the front doors in CGF.
I also hear that CGF has the highest paid mailroom clerks in the country--What a joke! I can't wait for the firesale-I want to get some of the old ties.
This holiday season will prove to be a VERY VERY expensive mistake for FLOPS mgt.
Thanks for the great laugh at NBAA guys- you should have heard the comments of the grim reaper..I wish it would have have that gappy toothed face of Sh!tfinger on it.

Naming names

Not only management has to worry. Stoolies and rats will be dealt with as well and long remembered and I'm on the verge of posting a name or two. So you better get on the right side here pretty soon, flying is a small industry.

I've never flown 121 and the 1108 is the first union I have ever joined. But I know damn well that pilots do not forget! I am amazed everytime I see a pilot carrying his 'scab' list. One way or another, it will be with you FOREVER!!

Then you will be amazed if you fly with me. I keep an electronic copy. Makes searches fast and easy.

The aviation community is a small one. Think before you cross a line.

Informants and Rats

Guys, there are informants and rats all around us. I was in CGF 2 weeks ago, sitting in the PM/PSM area and a pilot cam in and was talking to one of our PSM about what he heard form pilots at an FBO. He was naming names and reporting on what these pilots were saying. The worse part was he was wearing a pin. I didn't get his name otherwise it would be here.

Bottom line be careful what you say and to who. If you don't know a pilot don't assume he is one of ours because he wares a pin. A rat or informant that is a known management suck a$$ is one thing, its another when that rat masquerades as one of us. I've seen lots said about putting out list for this and that mostly about membership and dues. I'd like to see these low life rats listed everywhere so we all knew who they are.:smash:

Okay Montie, now that we know you're monitoring this board;

Montie look out! hair #345 is out of place. But it sure is still a nice quafe(sp?) you got going on up top there.

Not as nice as mine though. Care to play some dodgeball!?

You know whereof you speak!

I live in an aviation community. Two scabs are lot owners. It doesn't matter what these two individuals do, or say. No one is overtly rude to them, but everyone knows their background. No one would trust them out of their sight.

Yes, the choices we make in life do matter. Choosing to scab will last a life time. If you can't see why scabbing is immoral, at least fear the life-time label. It will follow like a shadow.

Touché.

Idiot.

I'd like to see how y'all will cook your metrics this time to mama Raytheon.

What engine is it, 1820 or 1830?
