And now ladies and gentlemen, its time for David letterman's Top 10 list.
Tonight's Top 10 subject is -
What are the top 10 solutions that FLT-OPS has for the Pilot's excessive
duty time demands.

Number 10:
Tell them how much we appreciate it.

Number 9:
Put em up at the Pilot's Detention Center, otherwise known as the Lion's
gate Resort n Spa.
Best 10 hours of rest you'll ever have.

Number 8:
Don't hire more pilots to fill all the seats.

Number 7:
Don't buy the necessary Airplanes it takes to support our customer base.

Number 6:
Tell them how much we appreciate it.

Number 5:
Ask them to work overtime.

Number 4:
Deny their vacation requests.

Number 3:
Airline out on day 1 at 5:00 am for an airplane that's in maintenance
until the next day.

Number 2:
Take away their food and tell them how much we appreciate it.

And the Number 1 solution that FLT-OPS has for the pilot's excessive
duty time demands is:
And hold on to your hats:
Elevate their status to Silver level on US AIR so you can:
1) Board the cattle car first
2) Might not have to sit between
Big Bertha n Rank Earnest T.
Bass
3) Get two bags of peanuts
4) Fly backwards for 300 miles to
Connect to cover the same
300 miles to finally get going
in the direction you intended.

credit where credit is due....

I got sent HOME four days early because my plane was down til well past the end of my tour. Now that is what I am talking about, save money over 3 nights of hotels for the three of us and build some morale while at it.

I don't know if was just a cool check airman working for us, or if it would have happened with anyone there in OCC, but I was grateful not to sit in the hotel for nothing.

You forgot to mention it was coming from the home office in Cuyahoga, Ohio...

sometimes nice things happen even in the new 400 fleet. I was supposed to have 0645 airlines tomorrow, but for some reason they told me to sit tight at home instead. Sweet!

The OCC is as messed up as it's ever been...

I got airlines for an early AM departure on my BB. The dispatcher e-mailed me asking me if I got them. I said "yes". I get up early the next morning to get ready. Airlines are no longer in my BB. I query dispatch. Their response? "Oh, it's a good thing you called us...your airlines have been cancelled...just standby at home." Way to go. Good OCC re-organization you guys. Try to re-organize one more time...third time's a charm!

Sentence fragments are intentional. Bite my a$$ if you feel the need to give me a grammar lecture.

???

Hey allright you got a day off!!!! stop your bitching and go back to bed after you found out you where STBY at home. You LOOK for things to BITCH about!!! WHAAAAA I HAVE TO STAY HOME!!!! WHAAA YOU MADE ME GET UP EARLY!!!!!! WHAAA YOU SHOULD HAVE CALLED!!!....( then you would have BITCHED about the phone call)

I thought you where out of here??

true......i guess i did read into it......sure sounds like he is looking for something to whine about.......thats just me.

Ok im relaxed......i just need more beer :)

Simmer down now!

Yeah...you definitely read WAAAAY into what I said. Trust me, you'll know when I'm whining. I do it alot. But you won't have to read into what I'm saying to see it.

And when did I say that I was "outta here"? You were probably thinking of that other guy who's flying the DC-10 now. I'm still "happily" employed at this mickey mouse operation!

I heard Gemini hired a couple of your C3 pilots. Good luck. Wonder how long Flight Options will let that prick Citation manager tim montie run off their pilots.

Ya know what, you should say how you "really" feel. Please don't hold anything back, cause it will just lead to physical ailments, such as high blood pressure, stress, heart disease, etc.:) If that happens, then you will only be able to fly for 12 hours a day and not 14. Please be careful and let it all out. :D

another one rides into the sunset...

I left, now there is no looking back, but it sure was amazing how much weight was lifted when I walked away. 4 years of waiting for a miracle or promotion to come, now I do miss the good times at options, flew with great guys, like lucky and the duke even someone named mr. floppy, but nostalgia will always be there unlike my good ole days on the road. All I have to do is remember how the qol went down. seems like every tour was 14 hr days 8 straight and u needed the week off to recuperate. sometimes I thought it would be like winning the lottery to get a day of standby at home! all in all it was good, glad I was able to move on, good luck out there and remember: don't sweat the petty stuff, and don't pet the sweaty stuff...

?

Saw a post on another site that FLOPS is looking for a DO now. Is this related to Nahill's departure?

Nope. The current DO has wanted out for a while. He just wants to be a line pilot. He's served as CP, DO, and PM over the past 6 years. From what I understand, management wasn't ready to let him leave the position...but I hear he's finally decided to leave.

Silly Question?

how long before you upgrade at Flight Ops?
Can u still commute at any airport that still has at least 3 flights?
Thanks in advanced

Never...but you'll make equivalent to Light Jet Captain's pay when you make 5th year F/O. Just stay in the same equipment or it'll take you longer to get that 5th year pay. Plus you'll lose money by going to another plane.

Yes, but don't commute from one of the new optional domiciles because they reserve the right to screw you with your transportation.
Thanks in advanced
You're welcome.
