From the New York Times today-

On Wednesday, Starbucks said it would sell two of its three corporate jets, a Gulfstream 550 and a Gulfstream V, to save money.

How many of these companies are announcing they'll sell their airplanes to appease shareholders and quell bad PR, but will continue to operate them until they sell...knowing full well that sale may not come for 6 or more months, well after this 'hot-button' issue has been long since forgotten?

I would say a majority of them are doing just that. It's part of the PITA of being a public company.

These airplanes will be sold and they will not come back for a long time. It's the end of an era of greed and wasteful spending. It's only January, you'll see more downsizing in the months to come. Time to face reality.

Who is buy all of these aircraft? Nobody is really selling aircraft because nobody is buying aircraft.

I don't think the use of corporate aircraft always qualifies as "greed and wasteful spending". You're on the wrong forum if you want to spew that nonsense.
