Because it would be more people competing for the JS!

I can understand that! We SWA stews already have to compete with the ENTIRE company for our 4th F/A jumpseat. Makes commuting that much more difficult.

Isn't that in the book of Revelation?

Since now F/As would be certified airmen, and their certificate would be required for their job, does this mean that they would be legal to jumpseat under 121.547?

God I hope not.

Of course not. Isn't F/A reciprocal jumpseats one of the signs of the apocalypse? Seriously though. Flight Officer reciprocal jumpseats have been an accepted/expected professional courtesy for decades. What would be the harm in bona fide, certified stews offering the same courtesy to one another on our cabin jumpseats a la jetBlue. We need to get back and forth to work too. Such a program might actually put a positive spin on this whole cockamamie certification nonsense.

I don't think I've seen a more irresponsible use of certification since....................

I have to go back to the Wizard of Oz giving Scarecrow his Diploma.
