In two cases, they are company check airmen!

I am hopeful that we will actually begin to see a smattering of retirements in 2013. Several in my fleet are threatening to.

Yeah we sure have seen the talk from the G guys. Not much on their follow through but at least they talk big.

Bitter, party of one....

Yea. That's the way to build unity. I feel sooooooo much a part of the team.

I guess the package they offered is not very good then

How so? Just because we have a group who has decided retirement must include a coffin, doesn't mean the other offer isn't a good one.

More like Amused, party of 2600. With all the badmouthing from G4dude and Wolfy, you'd think at least they would have left by now.

Naw. They're going to get their Global type and their signing bonus and THEN punch out.

A friend of a friend knows a guy who heard it from a friend that swears a top poo-bah in CMH hinted to him that a buy-out at NJ is coming too.....

Yeah, Harry Potter loves giving money away. That may happen.

Maybe Mr No convinced him.

I heard from what is actually happening, a rumor. That big egos are going to be crushed by reality.

Do not expect any sympathy. As most of you have shown none to us small guys, over the years.

Just flew with an FO who is pushing 70. Has trouble following SOPs, is horrible on the radio, and does not fly well at all. He stated he will not be taking the buyout. Instead we get to continue to fly with him and monitor his every movement in the cockpit, like you would with a student pilot, in order to protect our own carreers. It pisses me off flying with guys like this while we have excellent pilots who do a great job for the customer and the company out on the street.

It's called seniority! Get over it, there is nothing you can do about it. Companies are afraid to confront older pilots because they don't want to get sued for age discrimination.

Personally, I will put up with this obvious downside to seniority because it offers me other more important things that make my career more valuable in the long run.

DOH is what's been rumored.

What on EARTH are you talking about?

I guess he missed the tongue in cheek tone of my post. Internet Aspberger's strikes again.

Funny how the government can mandate discrimination in the 121 world based on age in the name of safety, but if employers want to follow the same safety standards in 135 or 91k flying they will be sued and the same government will make sure they pay dearly for doing so.

5 or 6 left.

At least 7 have accepted.

Not at least....just 7! So many more SHOULD HAVE TAKEN IT. Now you young guys with families and no job are to supposed to respect the old geriatrics that need to be in assisted living facilities because they are going to drop dead in those seats;they will never leave...period! They are simply too greedy!

I just flew with the exception. I give yipper the business about these old farts that can't hear, can't see and can't fly anymore. Now I have to show some love. 69 years old and sharp as a tack! Absolutely look forward to flying with him again!

Just got the news of one old guy leaving...life just got better for all of us at Flex!

Amen.

The terseness of that announcement seems to indicate something other than voluntary separation...

Propilot? Really? Think you should rethink that one. Another one of the Entitlement Generation. Gimme Gimme Gimme, I deserve it, I want it NOW!

Greed has nothing to do with it you arrogant little turd. You and all the others who rant about this crap made the decision easy for us old feable farts. I'm staying right where I am as long as I can so Dou&#@' bags like you never touch a tiller or ever see the view out the left side windscreen.

Really unbelievable, guys like you have truly ruined this once great profession. Very sad actually.
