Seems Flexjet is overstaffed and doesn't have the business to sustain itself. Asking for voluntary separation or the threat of furloughs looms. How is it they just hired off the street just a few months ago ??????

We have a bunch (30ish) of pilots who are pushing/over 70. Maybe they are just trying to clear some debris? Or it could be they lack the business acumen to grow and compete with Netjets? They may be acknowledging they can't run a growing, dynamic enterprise. I just don't know what they are thinking.

I do know one thing; Handschuch said furloughs will happen honoring seniority. So the transfers, hired "on the bottom of the Flexjet seniority list" will be the first to go. After all, he wouldn't lie to us...would he???

Or it could be that Union negotiations are underway and the company has to look like it is poor and times are tough so those pilots won't ask for too much money.

It won't work.

KR will run this place into the ground before he will negotiate in good faith with the union. The investors need to step in and remove him. All of the big news publications that he's been going on bragging about how they are growing by leaps and bounds needs to get this story. WSJ, aviation news, AIN, CNN, MSNBC.

Flexjet CEO Michael Silvestro. “Our [year-over-year fractional share] sales for the year are up 20 percent and the marketplace clearly is hungry for extended-range products from Gulfstream.” New aircraft are expected to expand the Flexjet fleet by at least 50 percent, if not more, from about 85 earlier this year “to the low to mid 100s,” according to Silvestro. Both quotes from AIN 6 months ago.
And they want an apology because the union questioned their veracity?

The White Whale

"Ahab?s boat is the last one left. He once again throws his harpoon and makes fast to Moby Dick. The line runs afoul, and as Ahab stoops to clear it, the line catches him around the neck. He is silently pulled from the boat, down into the depths by Moby Dick."

Isn't that from a movie or something?
