You can get hired into the DA-2000 ( not the -EX) as a newhire FO. If you want to fly the G-IV you have to apply to NetJets International, and yes they do hire into the Gs.
Curious, why are you interested in the "bigger" planes and not the Ultra or the Beechjet? Are you interested in flying for Netjets or just flying the bigger planes?
Like NJAmerica said- the Excel and reserve schedule will make the most for any first year pilot. You get an extra $225 a month in differences pay for flying the Excel and XLS. Reserves get most of the holidays (10 at almost $330 a day extra for first year) and reserve allows you to do more than 3 extended days per quarter if you so choose (I have extended and still worked less than 18 days on the reserve schedule). The Excels also work alot and get a lot of OT at somewhere around 31 or 32 per hour for first year reserve. It would be very possible to make over 60K first year including per diem. I know this isn't great, but it's almost 3 times what a first year guy could get at many of the regionals.
There have been some references to getting hired into Management... will any of you expand on this? Are you part of the union? Are the minimums the same? What's the difference?
