Just curious, why is the engine painted blue. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but it kind of clashes with the green.

it matches the blue stripe...but still, I think the blue engine sticks out like a sore thumb.

Boy, if this doesn't force DAL to get their sh1t together, nothing will........

Is the top white, as opposed to light brown as on the 717?

Sharp looking birdie, does it get the winglets?

It's diffinetely going to have to grow on me. I really think that our current paint job would have looked better. I hope I like it soon though since I'm going to be flying it this summer.

looks like value jet come on why the he** does some dip **** have to take it to the toilet.

let me finish it looks like VJ,,,, but not even close we are here, and we are one of the few that make money.

Don't worry I am sure we might even take your resume, come to think of it no we won't.

Hey everyone's going blue - Southwest's new paint scheme and of course Jet Blue. I guess Song is going green like AirTran - it is getting confusing... I agree that the winglets would have been a nice addition. If SWA is using winglets (and they tend to be conservative in terms of decision making), then you'd think AirTran would too - not that AirTran copies everything SWA does. I like the Winglets and I hope AirTran incorporates them at some point... Plus, I hear they pay for themselves with the improved fuel efficiency.

The way I understand it, there will be winglets on any -800s that they take. The -700s will come without winglets.

Dizel8,

I am not sure but it still looks like the creme color used on our 717s except it looks like some of our older 717s that have been sun faded. In the picture it definetly looks like a lighter creme color but hopefully it is just the picture and the light conditions.

Looks good

I think it looks very nice, much better than the current melted ice cream colors. Nice paint job, nice NEW equipment.

I was chatting with an airtran pilot the other day and he said he doesn't think there will be winglets because they add X amount to the wingspan and it will create issues with gate space......

I'm glad to see their new 737s are coming to the line soon, but I think that revised paint scheme is just too busy. I would have much preferred their regular scheme as it would have looked very classy on the NG's..oh well it is just my opinion anyhow..ill still fly on them when I can.

Re: First AirTran 737...

Didn't AirTran fly 737s before the 717?
