NATA president writes President Obama a letter. Some of the detail included:

Fly safe.
- The business aviation industry employs 1.3 million Americans.
- Business aviation contributes over $150 billion of U.S. economic output.
- Business aviation jobs are some of the best paying technical jobs in our country, and for the most part they can’t be outsourced over seas.
- It’s not just “fat cats” flying in business aircraft. Over 85% of business aviation flights don’t have a CEO or other senior executive on board. Rather, they serve time-critical trips by mid-level employees.
- Airlines serve a small number of U.S. cities through only 70 hubs and if you don’t live near or travel to one of these airline hubs, travel is costly in terms of time and convenience. In fact, in the last 12 months alone, airline service has been cancelled to 100 additional American cities. There is just no way to efficiently run a business with far flung operations in America’s secondary cities without using business aviation.
- Business aviation serves over 5,000 airports in the U.S.
- The United States leads the world in business aviation manufacturing and over 60% of what these companies make is exported, helping our balance of trade. Plus, the handful of companies who make business aircraft outside of the U.S. include significant U.S. content in their products and “complete “ those aircraft in the U.S. with products manufactured here.
- Business aviation provides a lifeline of humanitarian services to many communities in times of need.
