My guess would be wherever they need them....ie whatever vacancies not filled by the bid get filled by new-hires.

That means ANC MD-11, but I think all the MEM MD-11 and 300 FO slots were filled by pilots on the property.

The 727 had openings in the right seat and the back seat left in the big bid. This tells me that new-hires will be offered the right seat of the Boeing and the back of the Boeing.....eventually.

Opinions only, of course!

So, based on all above, the only guys that will be getting passover are those who bid ANC. What about a guy who was awarded MEM 11 FO on the 0305 bid and then swapped to ANC? Does he only gets passover from the newhires, not the ANC junior guy that gets activated before him?

I really don't know how all of this will play out, but it seems like the only ones that would get passover pay are those that bid ANC on bid 05-03 and their class dates got pushed back.

But this one is very unusual. The people that haven't trained on 05-03 and were to be Memphis based are getting their dates pushed back so that the company can train new hire pilots. Again, this doesn't seem to be the intent of the contract, so if the company chooses not to pay passover, I think it could be grieved. Has anyone called the union, or is there anyone there to answer the phones?

My guess is that no one is minding the store. Everyone is taking an early summer vacation.

"ALPA strongly believes in and supports the right of all employees – including its own – to strike. The officers of the association will do nothing to undermine or interfere with their strike. ALPA’s offices where Unit 2 employees ordinarily work are now closed. Other facilities where Unit 2 employees are not ordinarily present, such as strike centers, remain open. ALPA will not request any employee or member to cross a picket line of striking employees at ALPA offices and no effort will be made to replace striking employees."
You can contact the company passover pay specialist directly to have your question/issues addressed. Don't expect a quick response because they have been innundated with all of our individual questions addressing many different unique situations and circumstances. Contact your ACP to get the POC info for the passover pay folks.
