OK OK.... This thread is about hiring at FedEx. Is it going to slow down or not? Does anyone have good intel on THAT?

Amidst all of the speculation, I can tell you one thing for sure:

15 newhires started on Jan 22 and 2 started on Jan 11.

That's about as close to an realistic answer as you're going get, because as usual, nobody knows anything around here until it actually happens.

Age 60 is directly related to THAT.

You can't deny the fact that it is a good ole boys club.

Are you a good ole boy? ;)

Yes, Hiring and interviews are slowing down till age 65 and the new bid get sorted out...

Past....

I just ran the numbers for wide body Captains. Age 65 is worth $ 1.476 million not counting the A fund.

Only for those guys IN THE SEAT when this sh!t goes down. Everybody else gets five years more f/o pay, s/o pay, or on the streets.

From JL today...

Age 60: Sounds like it'll happen 1.5-2 years from now. The interesting point is what he said about the perceived downside. He seems convinced that B-plans will probably be outlawed, and there WILL be a penalty for retiring at 60. Some percentage hit to retire at 64, 63, etc... A quote (paraphrased) "If you're 57 and think that you'll be able to retire at 60 with no penalty, you had better think again." He said it's not a matter of if you'll be able to retire at 65, but how much of a hit you're going to take if you go early...
