By the way, when's the last time you soloed anything?

Hey! Taken out of context! I'm pretty sure I directed it at you though, didn't I? If not, I meant to. BTW, your CAS diatribes are getting old. Face it, you are not an expert on CAS. There's more than one way to do it. There's not enough gunpigs in the world to accomodate every request for them and the AC-130 is not the be all, end all CAS platform. It's survivability is low in anything above a medium threat environment. In a mid to high threat environment, you're going to get fast movers as a CAS platform. They're the only ones who can execute the mission while staying alive. A shot up aircraft isn't a good CAS platform. Ask the guy on the ground if he'd rather have a F-16, B-52, A-10 or nothing at all? Instead of griping all the time, you should learn to work with what you have. The ST guys that are embedded in every ODA or SEAL team know how to make use of the fast movers - and make use of them very well. Bang your head against the wall all you want to about Vipers, F-22's, F-35's et al, it won't change the future. And yes, I'd be willing to bet that the F-22 will eventually be a kick butt CAS platform. Get over it.

And their sacrifice is appreciated and recognized. There's actually a lot of sniping going at the pentagon these days by the Army and the USMC about funding. They're paying the price in blood and they want more dollars sent thier way to acknowledge it. But, insulting fighter pilots isn't really fair. There have been AF casualties, and just like soldiers and Marines, their death is tragic. They just don't happen nearly as often. And I don't think you will EVER find any decent Airman who will gloat about going to the O'Club while good men are dying on the battlefield. Anytime you have TIC, those guys will bust their butts and risk their lives to help out. Hurling insults at Magnum!! or any other fighter pilot by implying they don't care about ground pounder casualties is flat out wrong - are you actually trying to get him to argue against your statement? C'mon. We're all on the same team here.

Nah, I sat in the back seat once. Really comfy. Like I said before, it's much more comfortable than a standard ACES II. The towel racks add to the "lay-z-boy" effect.

It's just that it's only got one motor and no gas. Besides, the 12 BDUs we FLUNG that day I rode along hit absolutely nothing! Loft/toss/whatever. It wasn't pretty.

And FAC missions? Don't let me get started on that one.

I had an old IP that told me a story once. He was doing a spin profile in a T-37 with a Middle Eastern student. They were in the high area and the student was having a hard time. As they passed through 15K, the IP inquired as to why the student had not yet applied the proper recovery technique. The response from the student was: "I am not afraid to die!". Needless to say, the next words out of the IP's mouth were "I have the aircraft!". Fun. Kinda like flying with full heat in your face.

Taxi, takeoff, fly to the range, TWELVE passes, RTB, and yet we have no gas. I've flown unrefueled 3.2. And, even clean, I usually stay longer than all other fighters in a like config. NEVER had to leave a BFM sortie before an eagle, hornet, or (now) a raptor. It's funny to say "lawn dart" and "you're bingo at engine start," but when the facts are looked at those statements don't hold up!

And I'm actually quite accustomed to hearing "shack, one.....shack, one.....shack, one.....":beer:
