Influence over the Jims or not has no bearing on our ability to strike. If a release is granted all the begging and pleading by CAL to ExpressJet won't sway a pilot. Could CAL persuade the Jims to cut us all a big fat check? Perhaps but I doubt it. They want to be able to get us for the least amount of money to feed their system. If anything, CAL could be cheering on the Jims from the sidelines.
Ahh, and what do you think the likelihood of getting a release is? This, my friend, is what sucks about the situation we are in.

Sam

We won't have any hope of a release until the new year IMHO. You're right though, even then it might not happen.

Please explain to us agin how the Freedom pilots are actually scabs?
ALPA put in place sanctions against anyone going to work at Freedom air. Same as if a pilot took a job today at Cathay Pacific. MAG used the whipsaw and the CC Air pilots as hostages. The freedom pilots ARE scabs. I carry the list and I encourage everyone to do the same.

Now that being said, had you guys had the nut to stand up to JO, and take a strike vote and WALK, the company stock would have plummeted. Low stock would have meant no finaicing for the CRJ-7/900. Now how do you think JO could have operated the airline without airplanes. MAG would have been forced into bankrupcy and JO would have had no choice but to pay a decent wage.

We know how it went down. We followed it very closely because what you don't understand is that every little thing effects the other groups of this industry. You guys caved, plain and simple. That Caused CHQ to go lower than Comair,(even though they THINK they "raised the bar"). Mesaba signed a crappy deal.....

SO why are we all having to lower our expectations? Because the NMB will not release us when they feel our goals are too far above your contract.

And Stay the hell off my airplane looking for food!

Pee in the snow,

You are in the right arena, but your pointing your weapon at the wrong snowbank. ALPA, actually your rep voted leaders are steering you wrong.

Your 100 day hero has acted accordingly, according to company wishes. You will need to ask around but the information is there.

Stand in line while the elected(actually not) reps, collect their money.

LINE VALUE +10% and some.\

Doesn't sound like a retired guy to me. Sounds like a disgruntled XJT crackpipe addict. Another anonymous whiner throwing stones from the crowd. Step up to the plate Mr Silly Sap. What would YOU do if you were in charge of our pilot group?

Sam

Just read this thread. Here are my thoughts...

Mesa should've done what Mesaba did....

CHQ threw their FOs under the bus....

Jack London says anyone that undercuts another man is a scab.

CalEx has my support......

Rez - just curious for another outsider opinion - what should Mesa have done that Mesaba did?

My support to the Coex pilots... with or without Comair+ anything.

Poor Sam,

Did I hurt your feelings? To bad dood.

Oh lets address the chicken Snit comments: if the truth is Chicken snit then so be it.

Good luck with Neg.

QUESTION: What country did you get your ATP from?
In the USA, the FAA requires 1500 hours total time to qualify for an ATP.

Ummm, on more time....

You morons signed up for a job that paid poverty wages. Not just a low wage, but actually lower than minimum wage.

You’ve already told the company what you will work for. Do you really think you have a chance at a livable wage? Do you think they will DOUBLE or triple your wages???

I predict no pay increase; crappy work rules and a bunch of suckers that will show up for work anyway. But hey, maybe the howler monkeys over at ALPA can use their GENIUS to help you out.

Just remember, you are getting EXACTLY what you deserve.

Ummm, one more time......Fu*k off

Let he who is without scab tendencies and full time trip loss goals cast the first stone.

I don't believe it, even Jesus has resorted to arguing on the internet.

Hey Jesus, about that whole natural disaster thing, we need to talk.....

Same as if a pilot took a job today at Cathay Pacific.
Steve,

Actually, ALPA lifted the hiring ban from Cathay Pacific over a year ago when they settled the 49ers issues... So, anyone that goes there now definately is not a scab and isn't on the list... As for the Freedom guys... Well, that's a whole different story...

MJG, I do not argue. THou shalt not worship false idols.

I've been following the XJT situation rather loosely, so pardon my ignorance. A few observations and suggestions...

Your strike vote is important. When we voted 97%+ in favor of a strike, it made news in the NWA world.

Also, keep your noses clean as far as "job action" goes. If the NMB gets wind of any, it weakens your cause and helps the company BIGTIME. Fortunately, Mesaba was able to make it through the entire process without giving the company any ammo in that respect.

Questions...

Has your management directly or indirectly made any threats? Mesaba mgmt and NWA played hardball bigtime with Big Sky and the possible AVRO contract cancellation. In the beginning of this thread, somebody said that you all seem to have a great deal of leverage. It seems to be the case to me. What's the general opinion on this?

Hang in there guys and gals. It sucks, but hang in there.

Thanks Andy, I stand corrected. Did all the 49ers get their jobs back? It was a shame how they were being treated.

No, ExpressJet management has not made any direct threats. The only "indirect" threat thus far has been the inability to negotiate an acceptable scope clause. ALPA has reported that "the Company has a desire to aggressively pursue other business opportunities and is presently unwilling to agree to the scope and job security proposals that the NC and MEC firmly believe are essential." Read in to that statement all you want, but that sounds like a threat of possible whipsaw to me.

Ok, I admit I'm fairly new to this board, and am trying to keep up with what's going on, which is difficult to do since I have no idea what the story is with the Freedom guys. So I'm asking anyone with a couple free minutes to clue me in (preferably via PM) as to why everyone seems to hate them. Not asking for opinions or hate mail, I just want to know what the heck you're talking about.

Thanks in advance, sorry for sounding so ignorant.
