I commute to EWR from Florida, its not so bad. There are more flights a day to EWR from just about anywhere than CLE so your commute should be less difficult not more, I think. It may be easier to get to CLE from ORD or MDW but otherwise, EWR should be better for you. Plus, its a better base.

Anyway, welcome.

Sleeve had it right a few posts up; with that low time it's barely enough to work as a CFI or banner/glider tow pilot...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, it amazes me that some of you guys whine about not getting a commuter job with such low time... I hate to sound like a crusty old fart, but back in the early 90's the job market was worse, much worse. I had around 1200 hrs CFI time plus over 2400 hauling cancelled checks in C-310s; the commuters wouldn't even respond to my resumes. I had close to 5,000 TT when I finally got the nod to grace the right seat of the mighty Beech 1900. And you're complaining at 600 hrs TT???

Quit yer bitchin', it could be a lot worse...
What he said!!

Thanks ATRCA. I'm really looking forward to getting into EWR.

I'm not pissed at all. I just pointed out something about their hiring practices that I don't agree with.

I own my own twin, fly 40hrs a month in it, mainly for work and am enjoying life.

I've always wanted to be an airline pilot and still plan to whenever someone hires me. 2yrs from now, 5yrs from now, doesn't matter. Minimums could shoot upto 2500/1000 for a regional job and it won't really matter.

Vik,
Please tell me your not pissed because you can't get a job with "600/350/and 20 actual"...

most guys furloughed or looking for a job have spent more time on a final approach than you have in the air...look at the big picture
