I have a question that seems to be unclear and no one I ask seems to really know. I was wondering if the multi-engine requirement for XJET is 100 Total multi or does it have to be 100 PIC multi. I appreciate the responses!

The answer to your question is 100 hours total although despite claims that a lot of people have been hired with low hours it is in reality only a small number.

If you get the interview then you have a real chance of being hired.Make yourself as marketable as possible and do not be put off with idiots who will try to flame you here. Good luck

My last two FO's were both new hires and neither one of them had anything near 600 hrs. Both had much more. One flew at Cape Air (really good experience) and the other was an FO on a Citation.

There is all this talk on this board that everyone we are hiring has super low time, but I just dont think thats the case. There are plenty of low timers I'm sure, but they are making it through training and are keeping up online and thats all that matters.

The last guy I talked to that came out of training had 700 total time but had 350 or so multi. 700 is low but I guess the multi time helped.

Thanks..

I appreciate all the replies. Was just unclear as to whether the multi was total or had to be 100 PIC.

Thanks again!

I just wish they didn't require a flying job and just required currency. It sounds like even at 40hrs of multi PIC in all sorts of wx per month, they'd still give me the boot at 600/350/ over 20 actual.
(Conclusion reached by reading all the gouge)

Vik,
Please tell me your not pissed because you can't get a job with "600/350/and 20 actual"...

most guys furloughed or looking for a job have spent more time on a final approach than you have in the air...look at the big picture

The only thing express jet looks for in pilot applicants is extreme arrogance.

good luck

Multi currency is a reality thanks to the resurfacing of the PFT/bridge programs. Now that the bridge programs are starting to thrive again, alot of applicants have between 100-200 hours of ME time in the last 6 months. Just my opinion, but my opinion comes from recently being told by two regionals that even though I have 220 hrs ME, 20 in the last six months isn't going to cut it.

...and a big watch.

See you again in 3 months.

Flychicaga,

You made the jump to XJT?? I havnt been on the board much lately, but was suprised to see you left your last job. What do you think so far? Where are you based?

Sleeve had it right a few posts up; with that low time it's barely enough to work as a CFI or banner/glider tow pilot...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, it amazes me that some of you guys whine about not getting a commuter job with such low time... I hate to sound like a crusty old fart, but back in the early 90's the job market was worse, much worse. I had around 1200 hrs CFI time plus over 2400 hauling cancelled checks in C-310s; the commuters wouldn't even respond to my resumes. I had close to 5,000 TT when I finally got the nod to grace the right seat of the mighty Beech 1900. And you're complaining at 600 hrs TT???

Quit yer bitchin', it could be a lot worse...

It was a difficult decision to leave C8 but I thought it was a good one. I do miss my last job sometimes, but I am really having the time of my life here at XJT. I'm CLE based now (entire class was sent here), but am heading to EWR next month. Had great crews so far, having a great time on days off, and even having fun sitting reserve in the crashpad most days when everyone is around.

So far the only negative has been commuting... but even that hasn't been half bad. We'll see how the EWR commute goes.
