Bingo! ASA had a loss for the quarter, SkyWest did not. Overall, Inc. will post a loss because of it.
 
Also, this just in! ExpressJet....soon to join the museum of deceased airlines...How's that working out for you SP?....Oh yeah...prior to its death...didn't earn a dime profit for years and years and years......
 
Just curious. Is the rumor true that ASA/XJT go not get travel benefits (travel on UA/CO or who ever they are feeding) or cant get reduced travel (ZED or ID90's) on others airlines?
 
Anybody have a link to the ASA dispatcher contract? Looking to see the pay rates. Thanks
 
And here we are...almost to the Fourth of July....

Yet no solid and reliable info on how many dispatchers from ExpressJet are REALLY going to move to Atlanta.

Bueller? Bueller? Anyone???
 
Sure the ExpressJet dispatchers know how many are moving, and the company to. The 1st wave will be on property working before the end of July. Maybe your boss could shed some light on the subject or maybe your association representative. If no one can help you out, I will be reporting in late July and can give you all the info.

We have learned that 40 of your SOCC members ( dispatchers, hub coordinators, ATC types ) were stating they were making the move.

So why not just come out and say that? Why so coy SP?

That number (40) is viewed here in ATL with great skepticism....

Thus the question, how many are REALLY making the move...

My bet....ultimately, 25 to 30.

I think you will see 40 + 15 that will decide later. If I knew the numbers I would just play the lotto and be done.

By my count 65 will vote in the representation election on the XE side. What number do you have for your side? Not to be to shy.

Who cares how many relocate? You are either an employee or not no matter where you live! Additionally, you are correct, the NMB ruled that 64 XE peeps were covered in class and craft and 37 from ASA. So the board has spoken and we will see what God has to say.

P.S. I ask 202 to go PM after page 3 but he/she insisted on keeping the thread alive.
 
Question

Has the NMB already reviewed the class/craft of those identified as Flight Dispatchers in the Notice of Filings and Show of Interest of TWU and PAFCA respectively?

Are we sure that the NMB has ruled on anything other than the fact XJ and ASA will be a combined carrier?

I was under the impression that while both the TWU and PAFCA had submitted their contracts and seniority lists to the NMB; the company has yet to provide any information concerning potential eligible employees.

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong SP !!!! The ONLY ruling from the NMB concerning the dispatchers of ASA and ExpressJet is that we are soon to be one carrier.

There is NO, repeat, NO ruling on the outstanding class and craft issue.

Now, my question, SP......Are you just totally uninformed or are you being intentionally misleading?

Read what the board issues....

"PAFCA is the certified representative of ASA’s Flight Dispatcher
employees. Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Inc., 27 NMB 192 (2000). According to
the Carriers, there are 37 employees in the craft or class at ASA.
The craft or class of Flight Dispatchers at ExpressJet is represented by
the TWU. ExpressJet began in 1986, operating as Continental Express, when
Continental Airlines purchased a series of small regional airlines. In 2002, the
company spun off as ExpressJet Holdings. TWU was initially certified as the
representative of the craft or class of Flight Superintendents at Continental Air
Lines. Continental Air Lines, Inc., 5 NMB 152 (1972). Following a finding that
Continental Airlines and Continental Express constituted a single
transportation system, the Board certified TWU as the representative of that
Carrier’s craft or class of Flight Dispatchers.
Continental Airlines and
Continental Express, 20 NMB 580 (1993). According to the Carriers, the
collective bargaining agreement between TWU and ExpressJet covers 64
employees working as aircraft dispatchers, ATC coordinators, hub
coordinators, senior hub coordinators, and lead dispatchers."

Once again, SP spouts drivel by quoting decades old rulings. Never considering that, well, this is a MERGER...and those rulings applied to different situations. Let's see...what do Braniff and ExpressJet have in common...oh yeah, that's right...they no longer exist!!!

Again, there is an undecided existing class and craft issue regarding the MERGER of Atlantic Southeast and the remains of ExpressJet. This issue has not yet been decided by the NMB and requires a resolution prior to any representation vote.

I thought that the instruction(s) to the carrier were that they were to
supply a list to the NMB of potential eligible employees.

Is there something more they are to provide?

My understanding of the RLA is that during disputes of representation that the company may only provide information at the request of the NMB.

The fact that the NMB is asking the company to provide information seems to mean that a final ruling on class and craft as well as eligible employees has yet to be made.
