I staggered my vacation and got 31 days off in a row.. Off from Jan 21 until Feb 23.
all with two weerks of vacation and I am a very junior line holder..U number in IAH.

No way with PBS I could have done this.

I've staggered two weeks before and got 42 consecutive days off.

What weeks did you have vacation? Using 2 weeks of vacation, you already get 56 hours of "credit" under our PBS system. You only need to build up to 65 hours of "credit" in a vacation month. You would only need 9 hours of credit to complete a month.

You're talking apples to bowling balls on how the credit works for the ASA PBS and XJT line bid rules. There's simply no "build up to (insert here) credit amount. Trips drop, you get guaranty.

It worked quite well for me. For February I was awarded a four day trip at the beginning of the month, followed by 16 days off, then a four day trip, followed by four days of vacation = 20 days off for the month total. Next month I'll have lots of time off again since my vacation runs into March and my bid will once again be complete when it reaches 65 hours during the building process.

It doesn't matter which system we use, PBS or legacy XJET line bidding, managment will find ways to work the system to their advantage. Anything can be made better, but I am very happy with PBS at the moment.

with my line bidding I have 23 days off for vacation in a row! line value of 79hrs...thats pretty solid too.

The problem is that I am making $100K to fly a 50 seat RJ and work about a third of the year while many of my competition get paid far less to work far more in 70 and 90 seat jets...I have to take that into consideration...Maybe if ALPA had done a better job with scope, this wouldn't have happened, but it didn't and we have to accept it as the "new normal"....

Got it. So you are accepting as a "new normal" a concession on vacation low AND your $100k in the joint contract. Otherwise you aren't that level headed in this regard, like your opinion of the XJT MEC.

Waiting for ASA MEC's 14 page report on line bidding...
