Its ironic that we have a union, yet Skywest pilots have higher W2s on avg. Even with the dreaded Brad Holt Override 700/900 pay.

If management offered a merger with Skywest in exchange for dropping the union, wonder how the vote would turn out

Maybe W2s are a little bit higher but our PBS, reserve and scheduling are pretty bad compared to XJET. From what I read here you guys (both carriers) have a much, much better bidding system. Most of us would drop a buck an hour to have either of your bidding systems and the XJT Vac policy.

Not according to JA himself.

I've been with SkyWest for over 20 years, JA says what he needs, it may not be the truth though.

And I've said it before, if an independent union front was pushed, not ALPA, there would be a lot of interest. One list for SkyWest would be a hugh benefit for us all (all of the regionals), but it seems it is designed by ALPA not too happen.

ALPA serves itself, not the pilots, especially not the regionals.

Granted, but it was said in context of concession discussion that included the elimination of our B fund, implementation of PBS, a 4% pay cut, and 4% of other concessions in the form of work rule changes after they've had a chance to read our contract more thoroughly. All this to bring us in line with what Skywest has. So maybe he was lying literally to my (our) face. But there was empirical data behind what he was saying.

ALPA serves what ALPA pilots want it to serve. An independent would have the same membership regardless of the letters that make up the name and would vote the same leaders regardless. ALPA in the current form represents the profession better than any independent in existence right now, especially the regionals!

Good to work for - Yes.
Finacially - Owned and run by SkyWest Inc. Better off financially than any other regional. Projected to gain a net profit of $35ish million in 2012 so we're making money too.
Morale- As good as it can be considering contract negotiations are ongoing.

I would choose either ExpressJet or SkyWest over any other regional airline.

Wow, nice, Lind... Finally like skyw...

In other news, for those of you who haven't received a first class medical since 2002, you can now log onto AOL or any other internet service provider and pre-submit your FAA form 8500-8 prior to receiving your current year's FAA physical....

Neat-o, gang!

Pertinent as always, Scottay.... can I call you "tay"?

Under no circumstance are members to break the TOS rules on publicly stating the names of users, two weeks off to start.

Ref hiring at XJT/ASA -- from what a friend in management told me, they are not hiring guys with less than 1100 hours now due to regulation changes...
