Ok VMC,

You are STILL wrong about the CPA. They can begin to repo aircraft if there is a work stopage, but it takes 90 days of stopage for them to repo the entire fleet. It is a graduated repo depending on the length of the strike. Both airlines would be financially crippled by a stopage long before the fleet repo would be complete.

If you are an XJT employee, which you may be, I doubt you are a pilot. Most of our crewmembers have a better comprehension of the CPA than you have demonstrated here.

I welcome you proving me wrong.

Chow.

okay is a strike a work stopage?...I said they will loose gates, planes etc...I never said anything about a time frame. You just proved my point. One day one airplane and the company will have a hard time recovering. If and only "if" both parties can agree the "repo" ends...and in the end CAL may decide to cancel the agreement anytime. CAL only needs a reason to cancel...CAL is already replacing xjt on some routes already with Skywest...dont you think CAL would ever do anything without a "what if"plan. And for the record I am working for xjt in a non-flying job at the moment, and we also have a through understanding of the agreement and what it means to all of us...

VMC Hound,
I got your PM, thanks. Just for the record, ATRCA is correct as to the mechanics of the CPA regarding a job action.

OK, let me rephrase... do we have any 600 hour pilots on the pilot seniority list?

Just doesn't sound right...

XJT CPA

What worries me about the CPA at XJT is CAL could cancel the agreement and transfer jet flying to SkyWest, Commutair, or any other NON UNION carrier and XJT pilots would be screwed!

Any non union carrier would pick up the flying and not blink an eye. And that is frightening as hell!

Please understand that XJT pilots have been spoiled with exclusivity with CAL. Just recently have we felt the pain of the WHIPSAWING associated with multiple carriers feeding the trunk carrier ie UAL, DAL and NWA.

We now have Skywest in IAH flying our old EMB-120's on routes we used to fly with EMB-120's ,ATR's, and EMB-145's , Commutair in CLE in our Beech 1900's, Gulfstream in Florida in our Beech 1900's and Cape Air in the North East, Bahamas, and soon Guam in some of our old ATR's.

These are all NON UNION carriers that do not operate jets for CAL, but all of us at XJT know they would be foaming at the mouth to be!

So we don't mean to offend the pilots of these carriers, but the pilots of XJT and CALALPA are trying to protect what is ours!

I know for Skywest it would not sit well if XJT opened in SLC, or LAX and flew your CRJ's for DAL?!;)

Management not looking out for us? Remember that airplane that ran off the end of 6L at high speed and destoyed the Loc antenna in CLE last year? The feds wanted the heads of those pilots. Jim Nides stuck up for them and SAVED their CAREERS. He stuck up for them as they sat through a CVR recording that had more transcripted text in 30 minutes of flying than any other CVR in the history of CVRs! And they were saying nasty, filthy, cockpit talk about Nides, about the company about a lot of things. Not a lot of CPs would have done that. I'm no koolaid drinker, but Nides was a line pilot with Comair for a long time. He knows what we do out there, and what we have to do sometimes to get it done. He is management, but he is about as good as you will find anywhere, and for the most part he hires base CPs that are good guys too. The only reason he was able to help those two pilots is because they didn't kill anybody that day. That was pure luck, and those two idiots are still working here because JN gave them a second chance.

The most important part of this story you forgot is CALALPA! End of story!;)
