Got a call the other day as well, doesn't look too promising with all of these rejection letters and emails. Guess I'll keep on screaming.... "more right rudder..."
 
Don't scream anything. A good instructor knows when to let a student learn from their own mistakes. Just be there to stop anything unsafe with a quick motion and a solid debrief after you land. Teaching in the air to a new student is a pet peeve of mine. Save it for the ground or take control of the airplane while you talk.

Got a call Monday and sent in my updated resume Tuesday. How long from then have some of you guys been getting the phone interview? How long to the actual interview? Are there any interviews conducted on weekends?
 
Got a call last Wed., voicemail, a person on Fri. requesting an updated resume, a call on Sat. w/ a few questions ie. types flown, currency, etc., told I'd get either a call or e-mail this week, nothing yet. Ohh, applied months ago, maybe 6?

Same here. I have 700tt 200me 100 instrument (75 simulated) and 70hrs in the past 6 months, all multi-turbine. I thought that was enough, but was probably well below the "competative" mark. They can't interview everyone I guess. :(
 
wow suppah, looks like you started a civil war. Dont worry bout these guys, just follow what you like to do. If you like the saab, fly the saab - if the airplanes break down from time to time, now you know how to handle it instead of falling asleep during preflight. Stick to your guns, and do what you want to do - good job

For all of you ExpressJet hopefuls....From the director of flight ops voicemail on the 19th, we will be hiring 48 in June, at least 32 in July, and at least 32 in August. Still no official answer on the PIP's, but it appears they may be staffing for some more attrition.

I applied on Dec 6 and have faxed many updated resumes since. I got a call in mid december and was told to "expect a phone call in mid March for a phone interview." Well, I was never called. I faxed another resume last week and still nothing. On the aviationinterviews.com web site, I see this guy with 610 hours that got hired immediately. What's up with that? Do they just randomly pick a resume out of a huge stack?
 
You have 700 hours and you are whining that they wont call you for an interview, maybe i'm a bit old school, but 1,000 is still the mark for almost any regional, and 200 multi is competitive...unless you got a break with one of these schools that sends their kindergartners off to be airline pilots in a month...to each their own!!

P.S. you're in college, stay there as long as you can, i miss the hell out of college
 
No, I'm not whining... I was just asking how they draw their candidates. I got a call from Piedmont at 700 hours, I'm happy as can be.

Our Dir of Ops, in the voicemail, also said that many of the guys they've hired recently had internal recommendations and asked that if we knew someone who was qualified, to email him so he could look over their resumes.

If they're going to hire only about a hundred or so in the near future, they can obviously be much more selective as to who they pick and an internal recommendation goes a long way in getting an interview and job.

You have to reapply using the website, I interviewed twice and had to do the whole thing both times, once they can you they get rid of your stuff. Good luck!
 
Anybody know how long it takes to hear from them after they call and ask you to update your resume?? It's been a couple of days and I'm wondering if they recieved the fax or not. Thanks...........

Some say 1-2 days. I got the call to fax in an updated resume on a Monday, and got the "thanks but no thanks" email on Saturday. So you should know within a week one way or another.
 
Guys,

If you get the "thanks, no thanks" letter...don't take it personally. We get a lot of resumes obviously and not everyone can be interviewed. Different pilots will be interviewed for different reasons so comparing one pilot to another solely based on hours isn't the best means of analysis. Keep trying and hopefully you'll get the call soon. Good luck!

i agree if you get the no thanks, reapply asap what will it hurt it shows determination. Good luck.

Just one caution on re-applying at express. I'm not anyone who would know anything official, however I do remember a time just a few months ago when you had to wait three months before you could re-apply. I also remember hearing about how when you go to the interview, they would check to see if you had the minimums before you applied. If you didn't, you were sent home. Is it possible the same could go for applying before three months have elapsed. Sorry to raise open questions, just don't want anyone to get burned. Good luck to anyone who can get on with them. I don't think I have ever heard an expressjet pilot complain ;)
 
Just curious what the chances are of getting based in CLE for a July new-hire?? Also would anyone know how long reserve is running at the 3 bases, I hear conflicting numbers from the CLE crews that I've talked to, some say 3 mo.(CLE) some say like 1 mo. or less (EWR).

Probably could get CLE straight out of training. Reserve is short right now for clev in some cases 3 months. Iah is the longest right now.
 
Reserve is very short in CLE, on reserve one month and will hold a relief line in July, as well as being only a few numbers from holding a regular line.
